How to clear an airlock if you have mixer taps

This man saved me from calling someone out had an air lock after turning the water off. Spent a good couple of hours trying to sort it and fretting until I came across this video!!! Done exactly what he said to do BANG 💥 HOT WATER IS BACK ON. THANK YOU !!!!!!

I was worried about a big plumbing bill, and then after seeing other vids worried that i did not have a double tap anyway in the house. Mate, why didn't I find this brilliant video years ago!!! I've had a dribbling hot water bath tap since I installed it a few years back, and thought it was because I had fitted the wrong sort of mixer taps. After following the advice in your video, it's shooting out like a bloody hose pipe, amazeballs! We thought we had a frozen pipe, but then it became apparent it might be an airlock. Following this advice I fixed an airlock in the hot and the cold water. Absolutely fantastic. Many thanks!

After all your comments about the video wobbling I have used U-Tubes anti wobblier processor to minimise the effect.

I was not convinced that airlock can be fixed this easily but I was able to fix it in seconds after watching your video. This not the first time your video has saved me calling plumber. I can't thank enough for uploading such informative videos. Huge respect to you!

After replacing the motor on the valve and all that hassle didn't cure the problem. Checked your other videos and in 10 seconds it was sorted out. Hand on mixer tap and blast cold water up. Ridiculously easy. Thank you!!

Many thanks. Was on the point of calling an expensive plumber when I checked this out. It worked a treat but it took more than one attempt to clear the problem completely. I also used a bulky cloth over the tap instead of my hand to prevent the water spraying about a bit. Thanks again.

Had to clear it from the lowest tap in the house where the mains water came in. Had to hold it for about a minute, but all the hot taps then flowed. Thanks mate you saved Christmas !

I just tried your technique and it worked! We were quite stressed as the water tank was splashing and there were droplets on ceiling and dripping on floor. if we called an emergency plumber at this time it would have cost us hundreds of pounds. Thank you so much! ☺☺☺

Came back from Vacation and though the shower had hot water, neither bathroom or kitchen sink had any hot water. Did these steps on both sinks and it fixed both easily and right away....! Amazing! Kitchen sink has the one, mixer handle; bathroom has the two turning handles... worked regardless... No plumber this time! THANK YOU (liking this video!!!!)

I know this vid is donkeys old now, but just saved me a bunch of hassle with this really simple fix for my stupid mixer taps!

Sir I have disassembled and reassembled my new faucet twenty times called home depot ten called the manufacturer twenty and finally took it out. I had lost all confidence in myself to trouble shoot plumbing problems and had decided I was probably no longer even a carpenter or capable of doing small home electrical projects or fixes. I even made the misses install the new faucet because she was so confident it was my issue. Well it worked great for a couple days so I did have to eat my pride for a bit but then i started to have some company in the confusion canoe. After your video I went straight to the kitchen, she happened to be standing there and I took the faucet sprayer head off, she looked at me like now what the hell are you going to do. I pu my thumb over the hose turned the water on and some air came by before the water, then I turned it off over to other side and on again and off. Put the head back on and walla pressure is back. You have done more than help with my faucet, thank you for taking the time to help us learn here on youtube.

Excellent. Water was trickling out of all hot water taps, used this method and now I have hot water coming out of all taps. Hot water pressure still on the low side though.

Another thing to check; check the aerator. I thought I had an airlock because after changing one ball cartridge spring O-rings on my dual sinks in the master bath the faucet went to almost no-flow, then shortly after the other sink did the same thing. I naturally thought it was an airlock and preceded to try various methods to bleed the lines. When this didn't work I was considering a plumber when I decided to work back from the faucet until I could go no further. Lo and behold after I took the aerators off I had free flowing faucets. Replaced the cartridges and problem fixed. Note I had turned the water off to the house to do the original fix.

Thanks for the video. This actually fixed the issue for me for a short time but then the hot water slows to a trickle again then stops. This is on all hot taps. Is this likely an issue with the ballcock in the tank in the loft?

Our sink nozzle has multiple outputs, so covering with thumb, palm, etc. was not effective as water still flowed out. Solution was to pull nozzle out and then kink the nozzle hose to stop flow. Took a few tries but eventually the hot water started flowing again! Thanks for the air lock tips!
