This is actually helpful because I’m so used to my iPhone 6S and missing the process where there was a physical button. Now that I have both Xs and 11 Pro+ I can do this without having to boot but annoying part is the assistive button
I usually restart my device every time It charges to 100% while still plugged in. I resets the RAM and also make sure the phones battery is calibrated and it’s really at 100%.
Thank you so much! My iPhone 11 has been lagging so much since IOS 14.5 (RU-vid videos need 3-5 seconds to continue playing, Apple Music needs 3 seconds to change songs). I've updated it to IOS 14.6 but the issues didn't get fixed. Restarting and reformatting settings only temporarily solved the issues, hopefully now things can get better.
I know it's not necessary to do it unless needed to, but I'll still clear it once in a while, maybe once a month, to sort of refresh/clean up my phone. Thanks Aaron, always with the best tech videos.
Is anything stored list like photos or passwords when we do this? Or is it like defrag on old computers? Just moves things around and get of repeats gap in storage?
HALWG51 that is a great tip. I use AssistiveTouch all the time but it occasionally gets in the way. Now I can cause it to disappear and come back when I need it. Thanks!
Aaron , hi I just wanted to share, that after 6 years being an Android user, which I still love and respect, I finally moved to Apple’s ecosystem with an IPhone 11 Pro Max and OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS 🙃, I got it yesterday and today I’m 1 day old iPhone user and loving it 😁 Thanks to your channel, I’m getting educated on how to use an iPhone, I’ve been reading and watching your videos to learn. I won’t deny this is a nice experience. I don’t have a narrow mindset I’ve always loved android it’s been a joy, but I also have had a little spot for Apple in my heart and now I am a proud iPhone user ✌️ Thank you😁
Chin Opai 😃 Thank you for sharing with me. I’m still learning a lot of things, figuring out what goes where, where do I go basically in the layout of the ecosystem etc, but I’m loving every discovery. I do miss like really, really badly, being able to multitask with split screen viewing in both landscape and portrait form like crazy 😩 and specially to not being allowed to use picture in picture for RU-vid has bothered me I won’t lie, but I knew of this before I moved into an iPhone. All else, has been nice really, I still love my Android format ability and sort of liberty to express and do what I want, but honestly I’m loving and respecting my now new home apple’s ecosystem ✌️. Thanks for sharing with me😁
MaxKito2 gotchu lol I had some stuff to that bothered me like not being able to watch 1440p and it’s a little harder to get music. Got any questions I can try to help out I’ve gotten so used to iOS I can’t ever go back to android anymore.
11 pro max is a dope first iphone to get. That's awesome man, hope ur enjoying it! Next up, u need to get the AirPods and apple watch, then you will truly know why so many people can't switch from Apple like myself. Their products all integrate too seemlesly!!!
mronissopwnage lol...yes I’m loving and discovering new things...I honestly do get lost and I end up on RU-vid to get references and guidance... but it’s all cool. My next hopefully soon apple device to get, will be an Apple Watch, to helps me monitor a bit more accurately my heart, sing I actually have some little issues in that area. You know how I feel? Is like I go to a huge mall and then I need to pi like really badly, but I don’t know how to read the signs and end up asking where to turn and go, to do stuff....🙃😅 But not complaining I’m enjoying the learning curve and appreciating the experience for sure. Thanks for sharing. 👍
My only addendum to this sequence is that I've added the Assistive Touch as an Accessibly Shortcut within Control Center, so I can turn it on with fewer steps. Although someone else's suggestion to ask Siri to do it works perfectly well, too.
Extremely useful zolltech, I only just picked up my new iPhone 11 a few hours ago and is good to know this as I really find this on my mind and You must be telepathic Sir.
I put the option “restart” only assistive touch and just reboot the whole thing every so often. Works great. Also, I switch the assistive touch on and off by triple tapping the home button (iPhone 7)
RiverGaming I’ve done a similar thing... I used to have a brand new headphone jack connector for iPhones when I had an android, then gave it out coz I thought was never getting one(Xs). Here I am still regretting that decision.
If you continue to hold the power button and press the virtual home button continuously you can reboot the phone just like you used to do on the iphone 6 and 6s
I follow your work.!I know of many ways to dump the ram. However theirs so many videos and so much time has passed, could you please direct to which video of yours is the proper version for an iPhone 7) running IOS 12.3.1! PLEASE AND THANK YOU SIR! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
With the new iPhones gestures since OG iPhone X you don't have to press the homebutton, after powerbutton just prest the x in the circle on the bottom and its the same result with the passcode force.
I did not have to press volume up first. Volume down and power switch was enough to get to the sliding power off screen. Thanks for everything else though!!
My 11Pro Max went bananas yesterday, very sluggish then froze and had the death spin.Took a good five minutes to restart then I tried to dump with the app called CPU-X iOS 13.2.3 shouldn’t be doing this
I was actually thinking the same thing. But after using using the assistive touch for a while, it’s actually much quicker than rebooting. Real quick, wish iOS just had a quick button on the Control Center.
I just got a iPhone XR and I am losing about 8% battery for a 13 min long video not HD i don’t know if that is normal or there is a problem with the battery iOS 13.2.3
One day, some clever developer at Apple will come up with an idea to a button named “clear ram” :-) I know that it’s my idea, but Tim Cock can have it for free
Why do you need Assistive Touch enables? Just hit volume up, volume down and then keep the power button pressed. Then press “Cancel” and enter your Pass Code
zollotech pressing Home button on Assistive Touch or Cancel when power off option appears both asks for pass code. And then all apps refresh when you open them. Why are they different? I have just tried and it does exactly the same.
Bolo Wajahat As I write this on my 512gb iPhone 11 Pro max, I actually own a condo in full no mortgage and a business all paid off zero dollars in debt and a 821 credit score. I’ll send you a picture of my Rolex I’m wearing if you’d like because yea... I have the time. And no both my parents have passed away years ago and left me nothing. I’m saying there’s no need to leave a negative comment against Aron at Zollotech here, he has extremely good quality videos and the subs to back it he even put a box to click where you can skip to where he shows you the steps so you don’t have to hear him talk. If you have a better tech video on these steps then make it and don’t criticize, you apparently had the time to write the comment and respond to me sooo...
Bolo Wajahat no I’m not rich in the sense of money by any means but yes I have a loving wife and healthy kid so I would consider myself rich and no debt. You assumed that my parents take care of me but you seem mad that’s not the case. You said momma and papa paid for my stuff and you were the one bringing up financial situations, I shut you down, you lost that one try again. You were the one trying to insult then that backfired and now it is you that looks like the immature one with childish insults so perhaps it is you the one that needs to do the “growing up mate”? This is fun... Would you like to have another go? I heard third times the charm.
I carry both iphone xr and Samsung Note9..this is where iphone need to simplify..too many steps for ram reboot. Samsung has 'device management' that takes care of ram management, storage, etc.
Im trying this out coz i am having battery issues with my ios 14 update. Turned off everything from location to notifications and yet my battery still drains up faster than usual even on standby and it gets hotter too!
If you don’t use assistive touch on a regular basis - this is more of a PIA than just rebooting phone or manually clearing apps with app switcher. What do people even use the assistive touch for, anyway?
With iPhones that have the home button still, (when your on the slide to power off screen) just press and hold the home button with a finger that u haven’t registered for ur Touch ID.
