I had a pretty similar climb as I was placed s1 last act w about 10 days left and ended off at gold 3, and recently reached d2 as of speaking (and still climbing), and I can def validate all the advice given here, as I almost solely played omen throughout my climb and IGL’ed nearly every game (I still haven’t done a vod review or done aim training besides dm yet but I wouldn’t doubt that they would help)

when i was starting off in valorant, sage was def a good pick for me as I was learning the fundamentals. Now, I'm just maining any other agent.

2:46 This is really true. I notice that when I fill, even my CH placement and movement sometimes feel off. Discomfort in playing an Agent can sometimes seep out and affect things that otherwise shouldn't be affected 'cause your attention is now divided. What was instinctive before isn't anymore.

Great video. All the tips you need are here. Only tip I would add is FIND A DUO if you're serious about climbing, it helps sooo much knowing someone has your back. I'm Ass 2 (peak Ass3) and I like wasting time watching guides in hopes of improving but I've realized that 99.99% of the guides are a waste of time. Practice range, DM and FOCUS is all you need. Also a duo helps too.

The best advice i can give is BE THE LEADER, watch a lot of videos on youtube, twitch, with high elo players, and learn from them, what to do, what to not do. U get a kill on B? then most likely the enemy team will over rotate and A is open, so rush on A, in the worst case scenario, its gonna be only 1 enemy there. Games where I take active role as a leader are the games I win the most, but when I just shut up, i lose. This game is in a dire need of leaders, people that can tell others what to do. At first maybe will be strange or maybe your calls will be bad, but with time u will get better at it.

Best tip i ever got that got me from gold to asc3 is learn from ur deaths what u coulda done better where to play what worked what didnt and what to do next time your in that positions can u play with others util? maybe dont play that spot, jus learn from mistakes

Nice video, mate! I want to climb, but i get depressed when playing bad or the team is not clicking, then i start doing bad decisions and so i never climb out of bronze/silver. Ive been playing competitive since december but seems like a lost cause by now. 😅

I’ll deffinitely say that sticking to an agent is very important for lower elo. You want to practice in unrated with other agents/roles to learn them as well but in ranked you need to have one that you can focus on to get their tech down and learn their routes and retakes. Never play ranked with an agent you don’t have experience on. I don’t care about the idiots in your silver lobby screaming at you to play smokes or fill. I’d rather have 5 duelists who main them than a balanced comp who has no idea how to combo their util or properly play their role.
