The fact that Wohoonjin wasn't brave enough to put up a video specifically addressing this up until this day speaks volume as to how much this drama scared him. It's so funny how many people rushed to defend him by ad-hominem-ing you as a content creator, saying you farm hate reactionary channel when in reality, YOU purposely waited for his public response. It's laughable at best

Yeah Im tbh surprised reading my comments saying im a drama reactionary channel when I gave the guy a week to respond rather than respond straight away, but somehow its still spinned as me drumming up old shit like what??? @@menmaroyeah i've said the same thing when he first dropped that excuse. it would have been better if he just came out and said he isn't radiant at all. it's just nonsensical and he goes "let's just say i'm an immortal only because i don't have proof of this other radiant account". he's getting the worst of both worlds (either just say you're only an immortal or show this alt radiant account lol), it doesn't make sense. btw he's still being childish about this. I tuned in to his stream a little bit after this whole thing started and he was rationalizing and comparing it to like lying on your resume about GPA. Not really the same given the financial scale (plus gpa is usually an extra qualifier and not the core component of a resume, radiant was a cornerstone of his coaching identity, he knows it sounds better than just saying "only an immortal"). it's a shame because as repeated by a lot of people at this point, he *is* a good coach.

By the end of that stream he had come to an understanding of the whole situation a lot better from the help from his chat.

he was diamond 3 when JeyG boosted him. Ascendant didn't exist at the time. he had reached immortal once on his own, stayed there 5 or 6 games, bottomed fragged all of them, and went back to D3. reached tit again a month later, for the 1 game this time, and deranked again. he only reached immo again later, carried by JeyG in duo queue, and then instantly the account starts perma locking Jett and dropping 30% HS every game (presumably when JeyG took over) He had touched immo with his fingers, but truly, he was a soloQ D3 player before the boost. it's all on his tracker, from march to december 2021 (when the boosting started) Also, JeyG deleted his vods because of threats he started receiving (at least that's what Hooj mods say officially). knowing how cringe people are online sometimes, I kinda believe it. he had facecam at the time, he doesn't want people to find clues in there and find where he lives... I would do the same personally, and I don't think he can be blamed for just wanting to be safe
@Jetashii

Mind you this was on sentinel role, he's been hardstuck ascendant and every time he tries playing duelist he nearly drops to Diamond. That's why in his streams every time he bottom frags he will say "I'm off-role" as excuse, meanwhile you look at his account and he's dog shit. I also don't believe he's coaching people to "radiant" these people got there themself, this is what we call "selection bias" the small selection of people to accept coaching are a HUGE minority, the minority willing to pay for it are even more slim. What this means is that the small selection of people willing to pay $200 are the same people who are willing to put in tremendous effort on ranking up to radiant and even putting their money and time on the line. We need to stop pretending this guy is a top tier "coach" because he's involved with high profile people, he's a fraud loser.

I think when you're so deep in a lie, you just end up lying to yourself. Not excusing what he did AT ALL, but I think if you see it like this, it makes more sense of the whole "I felt bad" situation, where I believe he truly did feel bad, but it ended up in the deepest part of his mind and he tricked himself into forgetting. Well, the ultimate punishment for this is a ban on Woohoojin's account. But Riot will never do that because they love their content creators who are big and bring players to them. So let's take this like it is. Woohoojin, gets away from a ban because Riot decided their rules for banning account sharer does not apply if you are a famous content creator promoting Riot's games (Also the guy was very drama free, that helps). This lets people know, we can do this as well as long as we make sure to not get caught in the initial stages, get famous and make a wholesome community. Sounds like a plan to me.

From what i've heard about his private coaching.. $800 is almost reasonable. I'm pretty sure it's multiple hours per week over the course of a few months including homework catered specifically to the player. The player would also have to put in an insane amount of time and work. I've heard that he has refunded people who aren't up to the amount of work they need to do. I will say one thing on the Radiant Alt account, if we give him the assumption that he has that but we also assume that like he said he doesn't record when playing on that Alt then, there is no one of proving that there is no way to prove whether or not that Alt account was solely played by Woohoojin. Now I agree with many things you said but that would be my understanding of not leaking that supposed Alt account which we don't know if it is real or not. There should be a video on his channel addressing it for sure, as looking through watch party, VODs to find this response, or going on his discord and searching for the response is simply unreasonable.

Im gonna put this comment into sections. Let me know if you agree with my take ❤ BOOSTING | "I am a radiant coach" The intro hits different now 😢 But I mean atleast he acknowledged some of his wrongdoings which is a step in the right direction. Now he just needs to reach radiant. I do believe he has the skill for it. He’s just not using it 🥲 My opinion on the criticism | However I don’t see your video as "drama farming" you’re literally just reporting on the news and giving your opinion which I don’t see why that’s bad unless the video itself was highly inaccurate Which in your case it’s not. Everything is accurate I just think some people are quite biased, upset or don’t fully quite understand/know the situation. And I don’t think you did anything wrong in this situation. It’s just some people are just upset 💀 And yeah he shouldn’t have boosted in the past and it was a bad idea Learning Experience & Confusion | But I’m sure he’s learned from that experience however I still don’t understand why he’s not going for radiant If he’s really that confident in his abilities. EDIT: so about the learning experience confusion part. I’ve sort of misunderstood the situation, I thought he wasn’t gonna go for radiant in the beginning but while rewatching the video. I’ve realized he is going to try to go for radiant but with raze. My Bad! ❤❤ Loss of Trust | I think the biggest take from this is that he lost some of our trust in him as a person 💁‍♂️ Obviously it may take a while to rebuild that but realistically if he just reached radiant then realistically all of this wouldn’t be that much of an issue Obviously it wouldn’t fix everything but it would atleast give more assurance to the people that lose trust in him. Im mainly neutral on this situation and I don’t think anyone should boost Coaching Prices | Also I think 850 dollars is absurd to get coached. I’d understand if this was like a one year plan or something. Even then it’d still be a bit ridiculous but still fairly understandable But as far as I’m aware I don’t think it is. And if it is a year plan then I believe there should be cheaper options for shorter plans Like monthly for example. If he wanted to make money from coaching. But I don’t really know 😅 Also I feel like the most RU-vidrs are now getting exposed or getting themselves involved in drama nowadays 😅 But yeah I hope he reaches his radiant and learned his lesson. ❤

hmmm honestly tho the argument about like people getting boosted going into coaching and taking away opportunities from “more deserving” coaches isn’t really that compelling. first there’s the fact that excelling in social media is like a skill in and of itself so i don’t necessarily know that being radiant alone makes you “more deserving” of an audience wanting to be coached; then there’s the fact that at the end of the day coaching ability matters a lot too so I think if you’re radiant and you’re super good at giving good advice you’d eventually build your own community via reputation and work your way to the top. definitely agree it was a scummy thing to lie about, but just can’t get behind this whole motif of taking away opportunities from allegedly more deserving radiant players given the quality of woohoojin’s advice thus far

@chicklegs5316
@chicklegs5316 3 месяца назад
hold on why is this a big deal? Its like false advertising that doesnt hurt ANYBODY. This like one of those lies that literally doesnt matter, I think its even net positive if anything. Lying isnt always inherently bad. This would be a problem if hooj blew up and couldnt coach people to radiant and all of his coaching was a lie. He IS a radiant coach (somebody who can coach you up to radiant) and as a coach he is REALLY fucking good and has (me included I will admit the bias) ranked up at bare minimum hundreds of people, radiant players and even pros has pros that respect his coaching. I do also firmly believe that hooj could get to radiant but hasnt because coaching is a more profitable trade off for his time, if you watched hooj's streams as a person i could see him rationalizing using the "Ive been radiant" even though he was boosted and telling himself hes good enough to hit radiant he'd just rather do coaching instead. Im a fan of hooj, his advice makes sense, and ive watched enough of his content to personally think hes a pretty decent person, if you wanna hate him for lying, because lying is bad, more power too you, but as controversies go for what it is and the impact its had I dont think its worth getting upset and hating a content creator you enjoy and benefit from, I think if this has upset you personally forgiveness is an extremely valid road to take. Edit i wrote this in the middle of the video LOL Edit 2: Hooj's private coaching isnt like an hour vod review, its a 1v1 class essentially, dude will probably watch multiple vods with you a week as you rank up, give you homework to do, show you practice routines, give you playbooks, give you top level strategies and explanations of how the maps work, multitudes of lineups and unknown things about an agent. This heavily falls in line with just false advertising a (imo) phenomenal 11/10 product. My morals support this in other facets so Im plenty okay with it in this situation as well, idfk I think this would be exactly like if a somebody advertised weed like it could extend your life by 10 years but it only actually did by 1 year, yea theyre lying to you but like its still a net positive to people, somebody may not smoke for only an extra one year but a hell of a lot more will if they think its for 10. I hope my explanation makes sense, I know Hooj admitted guilt and that what he did was wrong but I genuinely think hoojs actions are excusable. Now i will say if hooj wasnt able to get you to radiant we'd have a whole other story on our hands but the fact that he consistently can get people there validates his actions. TL;DR Arguement: Hooj lied but its fine cause his lie hasnt harmed anybody

Alright, firstly imma say that I'm not trying to disprove what you've found, nor trying to pull you or your content down. I honestly think these types of videos where you purposefully try to show someone's faults is unnecessary. You don't know his true intentions of why he had someone play on his account or why he got boosted. You don't know how each and every one of his viewers feel. I agree with you that some people may feel mad at someone getting boosted, and that's fine to say that to people, but don't try to pull everything they've built down just because of one cracked brick. Woohoojin has gotten to where he has because of his skill as a coach. You yourself said that he is one of the best coaches there are in the content creation area at this time. That's all that matters. If people want to blow that $800, then let them. You used the analogy of saying that cigarettes cause lung cancer, and even though people are warned, they still do it. That's because they find enjoyment in it, and they don't care about the repercussions, and neither do the people who spend that money on getting coached by one of the best. I doubt the difference between Radiant and Immortal 3 268RR is going to do much of anything. As you also said, he most likely would have gotten to where he is now saying he's Immortal, so why does it matter to the point where you are saying that he has to pay? He's apologized for it, said he isn't going to do it again, and still provides the same content he always has been. It's not going to randomly get worse now that he says he's Immortal, and he's not all the sudden going to play worse now that he can't say he hit Radiant. TLDR: bro everyone makes mistakes, he admitted to it, his community is informed, and they still watch him and respect him. anyone who doesn't can decide to leave or stop watching, simple as that. there's no need for you to go onto a whole rant slandering his apology to his community constantly trying to say how it's all fake just so you can feel good, or for whatever reason you do it.
@menmaro

Im currently working on another video now where this guy peaked diamond 2 but bought a boost to radiant and is now charging 75 dollars per hour of coaching to any sucker who will pay thinking they'll get a radiant coach. Woohoojin didnt do any damage with coaching, as I continuously say, hes a great coach, probably the best. But his lie and getting away with it emboldens other people to do the same who actually suck at coaching but wanna make a quick buck off of suckers

@@menmaro I don't disagree with you on how people may think they can get away with it, but that's because of who they are, not because one creator did it. the reason people are willing to pay any amount for coaching is because of proven results that that coach has produced, not because of their rank in the game. the rank is to just show that they play the game. woohoojin can charge money because of the results his coaching produce. that shit creator in your scenario doesn't produce results, and therefore doesn't have the ability to be able to charge for his services.
