FIRST video/website/article that explains HOW to physically connect the ssd when there is only space for one normally. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just tried this yesterday, Feb 22nd 2019, and it worked like a charm! I had a Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming that had a 5400RPM 1TB HDD and I was upgrading it to a 1TB SSD. I followed every step in this awesome and clear video, and boom! The laptop booted up so much faster and worked like a charm! Thank you kindly sir!
This worked great for me. I was concerned that the cloned SSD disk wouldn't be bootable but it booted right up after the clone operation. Thanks for uploading this!
i want to thank you ,i'm not a geek and i didn't know how to do it but you show me how in a very simplistic way. i use the link you provided for AOMEI Backupper Standard and it work just like you show me and for free, took about 50 min and Boom just like that everything is like it was before i remove the hard drive.keep up the good work my friend
I swear to God this is the best tutorial ever every single program I've used from other tutorials has either given me a problem or was way too confusing this was so easy and I even copied the entire operating system I give you a big like
Excellent Video. I upgraded from a Samsung standard SATA to a WD Blue drive at the weekend. I already had installed Both AOMEI partition assistant and this program, however I did note the Clone system drive on AOMEI is a premium feature, and not available, at least on my version. I got around this anyway and have to say WHAT GREAT software this is. I've used so many other programs, but this is the best. Most intuitive, easy to use, and clear interface. The only strange thing was I had to clone the system drive first, then the 2nd partition in the unallocated space. You don't have to mess about with DISKPART, formatting etc so this program is great for the novice. The other strange thing was once my system drive was cloned my computer would not recognize it connected Via USB. I thought that was strange but did the physical swap anyway and it worked perfectly. Did anyone else experience this?
Dude! This was awesome! I tried following several other video tutorials, but they didn't work for me. Yours did - perfectly. The recommended software - AOMEI Backupper was awesome...and free! The only thing they wanted was to share a post on any social media site. Once that was done, they instantly unlocked all the features needed for this operation. Now I have my SSD working at lightning speed. Thank you so much & keep up the good work!!
What a great video! thanks for sharing!! this still works as of February 2019 with the latest version of AOMEI Backupper Standard and a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop using a New Crucial SSD and a USB to SATA adapter that I also bought from Crucial :)
+nathan explosion No. You need to copy all the disk. It's not enough to copy partition c: only. You should also copy system reserved partition. If you're not sure, best way to do it is to copy all the disk.
Great video. Do you have to reactivate windows after installing? My dad want's an ssd, but his PC came with the OEM windows, and he hasn't got the discs nor the activation key.
Thank you very much! Although I did it with "System Clone" option The "Disk Clone" option does not worked for me It was lock at first but to unlock it you need to share a post on facebook twitter or google+
I used this video for cloning my laptop HDD to SSD. AOMEI Backupper is a nice program. I liked using their partition editor so that everything is complete after install. Mine didn't need a driver install reboot (Samsung 850 EVO). Just curious... my C: drive on the HDD showed 72gb used, but the SSD came out with 62gb used. Everything was the same with my D: drive that just stores data. Did Backupper compress the C: drive for the SSD? Thanks for doing this video!
thanks very well.it worked perfectly for me to clone hdd 500 gb to 250gb on my asus i3 p550l with windows 8.1.that's great tutorial.i have tested acronis, reflect and easus but i cant clone bigger hdd to smaller ssd.aomei does it and pefectly and gratis
Hey there! Really nice video. I'm about to upgrade my (tower) pc with a SSD and I want to do a clean install of windows 10. Can I directly 'clean' install windows 10 to the SSD or di I have to clone it afterwards to the SSD? Windows 10 is currently on a WD HDD.
Hi. Really lovely and clear video tutorial! i have a PROBLEM that i really hope you can help me with. i bought a new laptop, and cloned the hardrive using your exact instructions. i then installed the new SSD into my laptop (inspiron 17 5759) and windows 10 wouldnt boot. i get the blue screen with error code 0x000025 your pc needs to be repaired. with options f8 for start up settings and esc UEFI settings. please help me
Hi, is there an option to use the hdd to keep my files? cause i dont have a external drive to backup all my files, and the size im using is 650 gb and the sixe of my ssd is just 240 gb
Do i have to connect usb to sata or can i install inside pc and run migration software that way? Have new pc with only 63gb can it work and do i disconnect old hdd or leave as is??
So if I have 400 something GB of data and I'm trying to move my OS to my 120 GB SSD will it prioritize my OS or should i just wipe everything and move the OS and re download all of my stuff onto my SSD and HDD?
If you were to then plug the HHD into another computer and run windows from that hard drive, while simultaneously using the SSD in the laptop, would there be an issue considering that two versions would be running at the same time under the same licence?
could I have some advice on the changes I want to make in my Dell laptop? Now I run windows 10 but I also have a windows 7 in a usb stick. I want to load windows 10 in an external SSD and also install windows 7 from the usb stick to a 2nd external SSD. I want to be able to boot from my external eSata port either with the Windows 10 or Windows 7. and then detach my HHD completely. My Lapotop will be with no internal HHD or SSD. How is it possible? I am a little puzzled on how to install Windows7 from the usb stick to the external SSD connected to the eSata.
Hi an thanks for the video . I have a question , I am not sure if you know what a snap on verus scanner is ? I would like to know if I can clone the HDD to a SSD via the way you cloned yours , with out removing the unit from the scanner ?thanks, please let me know if you can help me with this matter..
I dont undestand, a laptop that has 1TB HDD (with OS) and i install an empty m2 SSD, when i clone it to the m2SSD and set it as the boot drive in the BIOS, what whould i do with the HDD that has the OS? Wipe it?
I try this but I get error 214, I"m trying to clone to a smaller ssd, but the hdd I'm cloning from is just the out of the box hard drive, nothing on it but windows and the bloat ware, but I still get the error 214, not enough space =(
Do u got 1 HDD and 1 SSD install on the computer? If u copy HDD to SSD and u didnt remove the HDD from computer u need to go bios and change urs primary boot.
Why is this more complicated than it needs to be? easy to take the old drive, put into a Hard drive cloner Slot 1, put the new SSD into the Hard drive cloner slot 2 and Voila!!! I have done this many times and the Hard drive cloner works as a HDD or SSD reader when not using it to clone... I think I paid 100 bucks for the cloner and I still use it to this day and works great.
123 Done Tutorials Hi when i go to disk clone then pick the destination disk, it wont allow me to edit the capacity to clone over. ie i have 1tb hdd but i want to clone around 60gb with windows 7 and my programs onto a 120gb ssd, but it won't allow me to do so. Any ideas why this is? Thanks in advance.
*****I am not sure if I understand what are you trying to do. You don't need to edit capacity. It will automatically clone everything to SSD. You can't choose how many GB to clone. It will clone the all used space on your HDD to SSD. So if your 1TB HDD has 60GB used, after cloning it to 120GB SSD, SSD will have 60GB free space ( a little bit less) For example: You can't clone only 50GB of 60GB from your hard drive if it's on the same partition. As I mentioned, I am not sure If I understand what you mean. Just try it out and see what happens. You can later edit partitions in Windows if necessary, so just try to clone it with default settings. Cheers
Geoseff Ritona You mean solid-state hybrid drive? yes, it will work. Probably it's best to unchecked the option "align partition to optimize for ssd" as solid-state hybrid drives are not SSD's. Great thing about cloning is that you can try it out. If it does not work, there is nothing to loose. You can try again.
