Hi Steve. Thank you for this video and technical detail -really helps to visualise effect every player wants to achieve, which is that lovely sound of hitting ball with the sweet spot. I for once purchased set of irons purely due to fact that I managed to have one of those great feeling strikes while testing several options. Boy that felt so good!

I've been an electronic student for years. This Smash Factor session is superb. You have clarified this mystery about "smash factor". But I have a question. Won't more weight on the left side "flatten" the angle of attack? It's like a tennis forehand hit on a grass court with top spin.

A lot of factors in shallowing the angle of attack. Release pattern and timing, swing plane, side tilt, etc.

A top spin from low to high would equate to a more inside to out path, and this also generally shallows the AoA.

I struggle with shaft lean, and most of the time, i end up increasing angle of attack instead . Any tips on getting shaft lean without increasing angle of attack (into the ground)? Thanks Steve!

We dont just struggle with center face contact, 95% of us are plagued by it. Everything we do in a golf swing is to try and compensate to try and not lay the sod over the ball. If we could stop chunking it, we could naturally add power and work on other parts of the swing, but we cannot come close to consistent contact. Not talking about middle of the face, im talking about massive chunks. We cant even chip without chunking
