This is an easy tutorial on how to configure any controller for ori and the blind forest and its sequel. This is a game which features a ghost like creature with extraordinary abilities who sets out to save the land of Nibel in the first sequel, after which the little creature is met again with a task but this time to save his friend ku. The game is engaging, has interesting game mechanics and full of beautiful environments

This video didn't work for my PS5 controller so I did some more digging and found this: Activate DirectInput Button Rebinding: True -------- A: 2 B: 3 X: 1 Y: 4 LShoulder: 5 RShoulder: 6 Select: 9 Start: 10 LStick: 11 RStick: 12 LTrigger: 7 RTrigger: 8 it worked for me so I hope it works for you, good luck!

For ps4/5 controller all i did was go to steam, right-click ori, then "properties", then "controller" and change the "use default settings" to "enable steam input", and it instantly fixes the issue, hope it helps

For ps4 controller use the combination 2 3 1 4

It was different buttons for me, but it helped me fix the issue. Big thanks! I just opened the game one day and it suddenly had completely different controls.

Bro the game just flipped my controls out of nowhere, as if I'm holding my ps4 controller vertically. Been playing for 3 days with 0 issues. Did u just take this guy's text and it went normal again?

thanks buddy, mapping the buttons (original ps2 controller) and the "true" option finally worked, power to you ~ I wish the devs would include a map your gamepad option in game tho, so easy, instead of scouring the internet to find a solution

not sure what's wrong with mine. ABXY are good but I can't move Ori using the sticks. it goes up and down only when i press left and right. weird. lol

It's probably the directional buttons. The games direction button settings might be set to inverted or something. Be sure to configure it properly and try editing the buttons settings when you launch the game.

thank you bro I was gonna refund but I won't now since the buttons are fixed. for playstation controller the X,Y,B,A I just needed to swap 4 buttons from yours but it was easy. important thing is how to do it and you helped me

@@theobvu yeah it takes some getting use to. What I usually do is to always jump it the tip of an edge. But with double jump I always delay my second jump to reach far places. The games actually really amazing when you get use to it.

For some reason I can't make this work. I use a ps4 controller. Whenever I try to run to the right, Ori crouches haha

Check the controller configuration folder and make sure they are properly mapped. The problem seems like something isn't mapped correctly.

I think controller is best. Cause personally, with the controller am able to reach buttons easily and so am able to execute moved faster. It all depends on the person playing. Maybe you're faster with the keyboard and mouse. But either ways this game is one of the best have ever played.

The controller needs to be recognized by your pc first before this will work. be sure the game picks you controllers first before moving to the configuration.

Kind of weird, the game should automatically recognise the controller with the buttons mixed. Then all you need to do is just assign the correct buttons Try using x360ce. That may work.

You have to launch the game before the game files appear in appears.

Yeah. This works for any controller so far as windows recognizes the controller.

Yeah. It's always going to show xbox configuration no matter the controller. If the game recognizes your controller, configure the controller as in xbox.

It didn't solve it for me:( It goes crazy in the menu and Ori keeps running to the left even if I don't push any buttons

I honestly can't tell what is wrong but I think you can try deleting the controls file and reconfiguring. If that doesn't work, try using x360ce to configure the game. Let me know how it goes.
