@@HPMIKE55 I’ve never heard a predator before so I can’t really comment on it. Probably would go with 2 subs though to smooth response.

Hi James, I am a home theater “greenhorn” so please bear with me. I currently use an Aperion Audio 12” sealed sub. It is a little long in the tooth so to speak(only 500 watts internal amp). However, I am overall happy with its performance. I want to add a 2nd sub but am not sure how important it is to exactly match a 2nd sub to the first? I would likely purchase a 2nd Aperion 12” sub. The newer 12” subs have an internal 750 watt amp - is it simply a matter of balancing the volume output of each? Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing I would worry about is making sure the new sub is sealed like the first. You can mix any brand really.

Soooo i can't connect this to a PC powered studio monitors? My current studio krk sub MADE for powered monitors the sub has in/outs to send the highs directly to the monitors?

How are you connecting the powered monitors? Which ones are they. Many usually have a subwoofer out that you can run directly to your sub.

@@JilesMcCoy no it's usually the other way. Studio subs usually have built in crossover with multiple options of inputs and outs Including 1/4" TRS, RCA and XLR so it's easy to hook up directly to the monitors. My monitor speakers are JBL 3Mk2. It only has inputs. I just want that low deep 20hz extension but that's mostly found in home theater subs but they are mostly made for receiver type applications?
