Our tech trooper, Chris G., shows us how the fully functional BZBGEAR model BG-CJ-IPRSG2 IP Joystick Controller is easy to set up and control multiple IP PTZ cameras. Simply connect an ethernet cable to the Low-Latency PoE LAN port for power and control via a local Gigabit Network Switch. This IP Joystick controller offers precision control using serial Control Protocols: VISCA, ONVIF and PELCO.

I have a Hsility PTZ controller and 2 SMTAV cameras. I am connecting them to a TP-Link 5 port hub that sends power over ethernet to the cameras and controller. The hub is not connected to any computer or router in the house. The controller cannot find the cameras when i ask it to search. I have also tried to input the camera IP manually and still nothing. Can you help me? Thanks.

Hello Peter, which model controller are you working with? If you are not using a router you will need to assign it a static IP address matching the switches address but different than the cameras IP addresses. What protocol are you using to search, ONVIF? You may want to try IP Visca. Please call or email our Tech Support line for assitance if using our joystick controller. Tel: 1(888)499-9906 or Support@bzbgear.com Thanks for watching and commenting!

@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel 3 года назад
Hello, which model do you have? Most of our models will have the default IP address as 192.168.5.163. If you selected the BG-VPTZ-HSU series then the default IP will be 192.168.1.162. This information is in the manual as well. Please call our Tech Support if you have more questions! Tel: 1(888)499-9906 or email Support@BZBGEAR.COM Thanks for commenting and watching!

Didn't you have to change the ip address of one of the cameras since they all ship with the same address?
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel 3 года назад
Hi Kevin, the cameras default IP addresses must be changed if the Subnet for your LAN does not coincide with the cameras default IP address. The joystick controllers IP can be set to DHCP since you do not typically need to access a Web interface via IP address. 192.168.5.163 (The .5 is the Subnet field that requires changing for your LAN) Thanks for commenting and watching!

Thank you for this informative demo video. May I add to say and ask... With each Key press makes an audible BEEP sound is made and thus not acceptable in a quiet environment. May I ask if this Key pressing BEEP Sound can be turned off or disabled permanently making the controller usable in a quiet environment or service?

Great video Chris. I have 2 of the same cameras, with the same IP address. How do I change the IP address in my camera? I have 2 Fomako NDI/SDI/HDMI PTZ IP Camera. Every time I go to connect the 2nd camera my Fomako controller gives me a connect error message.
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel 2 года назад
Hello, many cameras have similar interfaces, but our cameras are not the same as Fomako. Like all other manufacturers, we do not support other brand cameras. Unlike Fomako, we do offer U.S. Based support 7 days a week and a 5 year warranty. Did you buy our Joystick Controller? If so, you can call our Tech Support, but at least one of the products must be ours to qualify for help. Thanks for watching, hope it works for out for you!

Our church has two each of the PTZoptics cameras model number PT12X-NDI. We have and are not happy with the PTZoptics PT-JOY-G3 controllers performance as the slow pan & tilts are not smooth/slow enough. The slowest efort is too abrupt and not fluid when starting the movement. Does your controller allow for slower panning movements or is it all in the Cameras fault that have this effect of being too abrupt at 'its' slowest pan & tilt?? ...also, Can this be used with the PTZoptics "NDI" Cameras?? Thank you BZB.
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel 4 года назад
It sounds like what you're running into is an issue with the cameras actual movement. The joystick controller speed adjustment is limited to the camera's movement. It's possible that it's related to the joystick 'dead zone' but not guaranteed. Pls give us a call 888-660-2962, we'll be more than happy to speak with you about your situation.

I'm trying to add a Sony SRG 300-SE to this controller. I can't find anything in the manual about what the UDP port is for this camera and 1259 doesn't work. It says it's successful when adding it, but then does not connect when cam1 is pressed.

Hi Chris, I have the exact controller. Can I connect 2 cameras with different protocols? so 1 have 1 IP Camera and 1 Analog camera using RS422. If it is possible, how can I add the Analog camera into the controller? look forward for your reply... thank you.
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel 3 года назад
Hi Steven, yes you can add a Networked camera using Visca IP and a Serial analog connection using Visca Protocol. Does you analog camera do Visca? The main issue is you cannot simply switch between Cam 1 and Cam 2 without switching modes prior to selecting. You would need to switch Protocol Modes in-between switching cameras. Basically, its a bit if a hassle and take about 3 steps to switch between. So it's not ideal for a live show if timing is essential, takes about 10-15 seconds switching between modes. Some practice makes it easier. If timing is not essential and there is a little time between the shots then it works, will just take some memorization. Feel free to call our Tech support for more help on How to Configure!

hi. How can i change the camera IP. I have the same models as you but I don’t know how to change the IP of the camera and i can’t connect the two of them at the same time
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel Год назад
If you connect to the web GUI of the camera you should be able to enter the settings (might be titled "configure" or "configuration") and then navigate to the "network" tab. Once you're there you should be able to uncheck the automatic IP address and instead choose a manual IP address with "configure IP address". Here's an older video for one of our models showing how to do it with a Mac. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C2TS8JlcreQ.html

Hello, you may have resolved your issue already, but I had the same problem as well. What helped me was that I changed the ip address on the joy stick itself. Instead of using, 192.168.1.199, I changed the .199 to another number and it worked. I have 3 cameras connected. I hope this is helpful to you.

How to connect, KBD1010 , there no rj45 connector?
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel Год назад
Hello Adi, It appears you are talking about a Bolin Joystick Controller. Bolin product pages states that this controller will work with any brand camera that offers Visca IP protocol. BZBGEAR cameras provide Visca IP. Bolin Quotation from the product page: "All Brands Camera Visca Over IP Control in One System Visca Over IP port used with the camera is different from different camera makers, KBD-1010 allows you to use any brand of Visca Over IP cameras in the same system together with no conflicts." Please email Info@bzbgear.com for more information or a quote. Thanks for commenting and watching our video!

Hi Abraham. This controller is designed purely for PTZ control of multiple cameras using IP or serial control. Your video outputs should connect directly to your video switcher.

@@abrahamdiaz9726 Your IP addresses will vary depending on the configuration of your local network - they are not guaranteed to work in all situations. We recommend using a program like Advanced IP Scanner to find the IP addressing scheme of your local network.

Great Video Chris! You may want to make one change (or be sure they ship with port 1259 as default!) WARNING: If you get a "Visca cannot connect" error, check the Visca Port address on the Camera. Ours did not arrive with Visca Port set to 1259 - it had a default 5-digit port address. Once I changed it to 1259 everything went great.
@BZBTVchannel
@BZBTVchannel 3 года назад
Hi Arthur, I checked out your sales order and you purchased the BG-VPTZ-HSU series, not this model on the video (Just for others to reference) and you are correct, the default port should be 1259 to help simplify. We are working on this change for the near future, thank you for your input and purchase Arthur!
