ty I am 76 years of age and did not grow up in the computer era and find so many on utbube talk too much, too fast and "assume" everyone knows the starting base when they want to learn something. I wanted to retune an old tv and did not know which buttons to push to do it. I found it all so easy after watching your video....a big hug and thank you !!
This Video is great for helping people who have no idea of how to connect an antenna on their own, (such as myself). The instructions were clear and easy to understand, and explained in a step by step process with no "technological fancy talk" ( thank God) Highly recommended.
I messed around w/remote and ended up w/no signal and back on cable. Don't know how it did it. I was depressed and about to call someone. But I found your channel. And you jogged my memory. Went to tv and got it back on antenna. Thank you so much! (I'd never even think of going back to cable, I get 58 channels over the air, been off cable for 4 years now). Thanks again!
This video was so helpful! I was trying to connect a GE antenna to my Coby TV and it wasn't working. After watching the video I realized I had to scan the channels, and it worked! Amazing, it recognized 37 HD channels. Thank you.
Thank you! I have been trying for a year to get my antenna working and finally got it done with your video. Don’t know what I was doing wrong but you fixed it for me
Thank you so much! My son usually sets up all the eletronics iin my place but he moved to San Diego. You were the first channel that popped up on my RU-vid search and are Exactly what I needed with the exact same antenna! Thank you for being very clear and making the process very simple.
Thanks so much for your video. It helps me so much to set up the antenna. When I set up the antenna, somehow I can only get 3 channels. I intend to return the antenna. I even asked the Antenna company for help. They told me to "scan" the chanel without further explanation. With your video, you showed very clearly how to scan. Now I have 97 channels. Thanks so much for your great help.
The only channel that explained is simple and perfect. Thanks. 2020 I only have internet and netflix, amazon and .... etc, and an antenna will give me the local news., thans again.
In videos like this it truly helps those that do not understand the latest connections. This is a very informative video and the young gentleman has taken the time to show and talk about this and help those to understand the processes. I want to also commend him for the safety reminder of not connecting these while there is lightning outside. Great job. I would like to say only that you would still need a channel converter to pick up clear wave TV stations in most cases. It is true that the Federal Government made the TV stations go to digital, however after a movement or outcry to the Government representatives by those that could not afford the newer Digital TV's, it was a popular thing back in about 2005 that the government would give these converters free to those that could prove they were poor. After that was saturated from the give away, the converters were bought by hundreds at pennies on the dollar, then resold over Amazon, e-Bay and channels like that for a clear profit but still holding the prices down. These were needed to receive the clear wave digital TV signals that had been mandated by the Federal Government to reverse course a little bit and have the TV stations that had switched to Digital, to now send clear wave digital signals for those converters to pick up their signals. Most places can now get usually 6-15 stations, depending on terrain, etc. So this is the rest of the story! Now everyone can enjoy clear wave digital TV channels.
thank you soo much, just purchased a smart tv had no idea how to get access to local channels so I contacted Samsung customer support which was of no help at all. I even thought of returning the tv. It only took 3 minutes from watching your video for me to understand. you should get paid by Samsung for helping me :)
Just a note about cable or air! I have a 55" Toshiba from Best Buy that is only 3 yr old and bought a hd Rabbit ears from Lowes but never could get it off cable to air setting. Finally decided to do the factory reset which made me nervous, but come to find out many of these TV's are for store use so the factory reset can set for home use. Voila, it then could be set to scan, thank goodness!
Everything about your video is clear and concise. I did as you directed to the tee and still I'm only getting snow. I hit menu and first changed the source to TV, then scrolled to Broadcast and changed the setting from Cable to Air. And lastly, I returned to Menu, hit Auto Program and waited for the channel scan to finish. Nothing. Just snow. My TV is a new Samsung. Bought it two months ago. Can you help me? Perhaps suggest some trouble shooting steps??
Thank you sooooooo much! I have almost the same TV as you, I googled "LNT3242HX over the air setup" and this was the first video. If you're watching this, you can probably skip to 1:56! The filler at the beginning is probably why it has so many downvotes.
Hi there, this video was very good and very well explained. I finally get to be free of Direct TV and do not have to pay 120 a month. As of tonight at midnight we will no longer have satellite. I have 1 Samsung SMART TV and I have 2 SONY Bravias. What is the best antenna to use for all of these TV's? I prefer an indoor antenna since we will be moving next month. Also do I need one antenna for each TV? I would appreciate your feedback, thankyou.
You can either buy one antenna for each TV OR you can buy one antenna which you connect to an amplified antenna splitter and from the splitter connect each TV via coaxial cable. In terms of the "best" indoor antenna to buy? We don't have a specific recommendation. If you visit our website there's a tool to help you determine how close (or far away) the TV broadcasters are to your new home and with that info you can select an antenna(s)
It "appears", based on the available data for the LD2060, that: (1) The LD2060 does not have the correct built-in tuner (2) You'll need a Digital Over the Air Converter box connected to the "composite" input of the LD2060 in order to get/watch local channel. (3) We posted a different video to show you how to set up a digital converter box. Let us know if you want more help and thanks for watching
Thank you so much! You fixed the issue with my antenna, but now my tv doesn't recognize my amazon fire tv stick. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks!
In Canada currently after CTV shut down their 6 analog broadcast towers on December 3rd, 2021, there are 6 more analog broadcast towers scattered around Canada, but those have to shut down later this year
Incredibly helpful! Five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!! As of today, I'm a new subscriber! Can you tell me the make and model of your antenna? Once again, thanks a million!!
Thank You for your speedy response to my question. I went out and got a antenna for $24.99. I did ever thing you did in this video I only got 9 channels. Is there a certain kind of antenna I should have gotten? Or what else can I do to receive more channels?
In order to potentially receive more channels we need to look at few things: 1) Use this tool to find the broadcasters near you www.antennaweb.org/Address.aspx 2) If your antenna is directional is it pointed in the optimal direction 3) Watch this video to learn more about different antennas and their ranges: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yjBs5TXhZFs.html
I can't get no local channels that I watch I'm talking about Spanish channels like univision telemundo I need a little help here thanks I also did what you said and still only got a few channels on my old tv I can get all channels I watch do I need any specific antenna?
What kind of antenna do you have? I'm trying to find the best one to get for a 3 year old samsung smart tv - any suggestions ? Want to see how much they are.
how come yours is so clear. i hooked up and antenna to my LCD tv and i only got 2 channels anf they were kind of fuzzy, what did i do wrong? do i need a better antenna?
I need help as well with my tv it keeps saying no signal I have a digital tuner box and a attennna still nothing the model is a toshiba polaroid 2611-TLXB
To have a pre-amp and a main amplifier means you have to plug it into the wall socket. This gives the antennae power. This is the type of antennae you need to bring in the most channels. I paid about $40.00 for the one I have.
Thanks for the vid/info ! My DirecTv went out again for the umteenth time in my first 3 months, a code 771 (no dish signal ) and it's a 10 day wait for a tech to come and fix it. Hooked up an old UHF-VHF indoor antenna with rabbit ears and circular thingy, I get some local channels but not ABC network which Ineed for the NBA basketball final. Wondering if a "digital" antenna from Walmart will work better if I place it outside, near my window ?
what if i have an older CRT-TV? do i need a convertor box? i hooked an antenna up to my CRT and all i got was 2 channels, and they didnt come in well. would a converter box get me more channels, and would they be clearer?
I have a Samsung led tv and a ota antenna. My question is on the setup where you select air cable and auto. If you select auto there are options for analog and digitial. Digitial says std, hrc, irc. I selected std but doing research I read hrc and irc might work better with interference issuses. Any suggestions or leave digitial on std. Thank you
Hi, I've shared your video on my Facebook page. We cannot get NBC in our area due to a dispute with Directv. I hooked up rabbit ears yesterday, and I now now good reception on several channels that were blocked. Thank you very much!
You're welcome, glad you found the video helpful. Thank you for the nice comment and for reposting our video, hopefully more people can benefit from this information too. :)
Are we talking about a digital TV signal caught by that antenna being fed into that TV. I thought I would need some type of converter box between the antenna and TV.
I have cable tv top box on my Vizio and would also like air channels. Can I hook up a indoor antenna to the coaxial connector.? My cable box is connected with a HDMI CABLE thus freeing up the dtv/tv coaxial connector.
guys please answer my question. So I live in Toronto Canada, I want to know if it's possible to unsubscribe in our TV subscription in rogers and use an antenna instead so we don't have to pay every month. I'm not sure if this question makes sense but yeah please sauce me some of your knowledge
