It is tragic that Apple makes it so difficult to create links to other apps- even linking two Apple Notes together- is ridiculously painful. Just including links in the Share Menu would be so much better. Plus, the links created re not always durable or sometimes don’t work on all devices. Despite liking the Mail interface better, I have been driven to use Spark just because it has a superior and straightforward linking capability.

Amen to that. The reason I had to make that video is that Apple didn't make it obvious or easy in the first place. Especially linking mails (which is my main used case). What I found though is that the link are in fact durable, if the email has been downloaded on that device. This however often is not the case by default on iOS and iPadOS. You need to go into Settings - Mail - Accounts - Fetch New Data. There you need to select the account and make sure that the folder where you put the linked mails has been selected under Pushed Mailboxes. By default these are only Inbox and Sent. So any mailbox that you move on your Mac is by default not downloaded on iOS and iPad. This selection makes it automatic. You will also see, that once you go into the mail folder where the linked to mail is and you do pull refresh, that then the link will work. So, what I did I selected all my folders, where I regularly put stuff into and selected them as Pushed Mailboxes. Now I have no more problems with my linked emails.

@@patrickstoeckmann Thanks Patrick. Yet another “hidden secret” of the Apple ecosystem. I’ll try this!
