How to connect HDMI PC to a VGA Monitor using 1080P HDMI to VGA Converter.
If you have a new Desktop PC or Laptop it is unlikely to have a VGA Monitor output port and will only have an HDMI Monitor output port.
Don't get rid of your VGA Monitor as there is a simple solution to connect HDMI to a VGA Monitor. VGA monitors are Full HD (1920x1080) so are still useable so don't ditch your VGA old Monitor . In this video I will show you how to connect your PC or Laptop to a VGA Monitor using an HDMI to VGA adapter (1080p HDMI to VGA Converter \ HDMI to VGA cable).

Very helpful video, it should also be mentioned to anyone wondering that such an adapter is better for CRTs than cheap HDMI straight to VGA cords, since adapters like these fully convert the digital err, wibbly wobbly computer words into analog ones that the CRT can properly read

I have a beamer with a VGA input and connected this with a HDMI/VGA converter (with and without an extra power supply ) to my laptop but the only thing I see projected are some coloured small lines. I have tried some different VGA cables (with and without distortion filters) but nothing changes. Do these converters only work for monitors ?

I've had one of these adapters for a couple of years on an old 24' Samsung and it still works. but I've always wondered, how much video lag does these adapters introduce (especially in game can be a problem)?

I did as shown, but I am receiving an "Out of Range" error on the monitor. It will only work with "only show on screen 2" selection in display settings which defeats the purpose of the dual monitors. I have a Dell laptop, Westinghouse 22 inch monitor, and ONN adapter. Please advise.

If the DVI-I to VGA is showing HD 1920x1080 then I don't think an HDMI to VGA would make any difference. But if it's not showing HD then yes it should be better if your VGA is HD

Hello I have similar setup with yours HDMI to VGA using adapter but it doesnt work in my pc and still shows no signal on my monitor. My laptop screen is bust and the graphic drivers need updating. It won't connect hdmi to hdmi from my laptop to tv (because no graphic drivers) will this work if hdmi converts to VGA then plugs into the VGA socket on the TV?

Very unlikely as graphic drivers drive the picture so won’t make any difference. Not sure how you will get round that

Not sure I’m afraid. An adapter is way cheaper than a new monitor. Must be worth a try. Printer you will have to see, be very annoying if it doesn’t work. I think it’s terrible old tech stops working, so bad for the environment

Hi My pc only has VGA. But my new monitor has both. I bought a VGA/HDMI splitter. Can this work with both PC and monitor with both female inputs? It's not working for me... my splitter VGA end is in the PC. The other end HDMI is in my monitor. Still nothing! I wonder if I need female VGA for both?

hellooo, i have a question, so i bought a monitor that only utilizes HDMI but my motherboard only supports VGA. So i bought a converter where the VGA will be connected to the converter then the converter to the monitor. im pretty sure it will work as the max resolution is 1920x1080 so it all counts on what resolution ur monitor is it will convert to that resolution, still ask at the place u buy the adapter from.@@keshavhotwheelscollection

Make sure the cable is in nice and tight. Not sure why it flickers, could be a frame rate issue between PC & the Monitor

I’ve not ever noticed a delay but then I don’t use it for high end gaming. But it’s been great for general use, not had any issues it’s still working!

Not sure, I think it will only work if your PC display settings are set to the same resolution as the monitor can deal with but I’m only guessing

Good question, I assume it does yes as hdmi outputs audio but unfortunately my monitor doesn't have any speakers, I use separate speakers on the audio out.

Yes it should do. My adapters only £3 so worth a crack. No reason why it shouldn’t work

Hellooo Im back got the gpu 2 hours ago and the hdmi to vga adapter 30 mins ago. The funny thing is the 1st shop i went to for the adapter said its 750 (13usd) and the 2nd one for 280 (5usd) so i got it at the 2nd. Already installed the gpu and the adapters and everything is working. TLDR: it works for me

also when I went to buy the adapter the label was hdtv to vga, and I told them I need hdmi but it works for me on 1080p resolution.

Try plugging all the plugs back in again as one could be loose. Else it could be a faulty adapter. Mine has been good as gold, no issues.

@@amvhub04 this was 8 months ago, now I have hdmi monitor.. but if you have vga monitor, use direct cable converter.. the one without the square box in the middle..
