I tried everything in this video sadly it didn't work. No cable would. But I did find a cordless solution. Go into Bluetooth devices on the ps4 and remove all controllers except for one that is currently connected if there is one, put the unpairable into Bluetooth search mode via holding ps button and share button at the same time for about 5 seconds or until controller is flashing. The system should now detect the controller. Also, if none of your controllers will pair via USB thus you can't controll the system, you can attach a USB mouse or keyboard to navigate the system. Hope the video or my tip helps.
you should have sold it or hit it with a sledgehammer until it connected, that is what i did with mine but i sold it for a new PS80 which has 9d graphics and 4096 bit processors over at the Gamestop on Niburu (warning don't try at home earthlings)
thanks that resetting it with a paper clip for five seconds helped I’m noticing a lot of times my controller doesn’t want to connect but now with this I can easily resolve that issue with the paper clip that will remain right next to my PS4 just in case I need it again

This is a guide for a new PS4 user. To the people that just recently buy it on Christmas ☃️🎄 or something. I don't know why, peoples keep saying this is useless & outdated. It's not. Better late than never.😄

I’ve tried these steps but for some reason, when the controller is suppose to turn solid blue after you plug it in and press the ps button, it turns solid yellow instead. I even did the hard reset and it still happens
Your controller Has a problem connecting to the PS4 mine is having same problem, basically your ps4 controller can't connect because it's trying to connect to the Charger instead it's a weird issue, I was thinking about getting a new PS4 controller because there is no other way to fix it. But the other issue which isn't serious at all is that your PS4 controller needs charging.
None of these work for some reason, whenever I press the button on the controller to turn it on, it just blinks light blue over and over again and stops. I tried plugging it in to charge and still it didn't work. I'm honestly getting worried I have to buy a completely different controller because I have not been able to play on my ps4 for months. If anyone has a solution than please let me know.
Not sure if you got your controller working or not but I repeated the paperclip method 10x and I got the same result you did. I unplugged the Ps4 for 30 sec, used the paperclip method again for maybe 15 sec and I waited until it stopped blinking. Once the controller stopped blinking I plugged the controller into the Ps4, then plugged the power cord back into the Ps4. It gave me 3 beeps (warning for turning the system off incorrectly) I pushed the Ps4 button on the controller and it FINALLY synced up with the Ps4 and worked correctly. Just to retest this I dusted off or 1st Ps4 and controller that hasn't been powered on in close to a year. It had the same issue. I took a completely different controller and did the same process and it worked. My take away from this you have to complete reset not only the controller but the Ps4 also needs to be COMPLETELY SHUT OFF and RESET in order for the Ps4 to communicate with the controller. I hope this helps at least 1 person. I understand how frustrating this is. I spent an entire off day trying to figure this out. Let me know if ya still needs help😎
Everyone joking but this video was actually really helpful. My friend hot a ps4 recently and I've had a ps4 forever so he asked for help syncing a new controller and we couldn't figure it out for like an hour. Turns out we needed to let it charge for a bit before syncing as it didn't have enough battery life to sync so we charged it for 30 minutes and then tried syncing and it worked
7 years ago I got a PS4 as a xmas gift. I never figured out how to connect the PS4 controller to the console. Now finally thx to tech insider I can enjoy my PS4!!

I have a Controller Drift problem on my normal controller and I just want to connect my new controller. I did all your steps and repeated them too. None of them worked. Can you possibly assist?
I gave them a like because this was absolutely hilarious. I’ll give them some good points though. Because i had no idea the controller had a reset button on the back of it.
Worked for me. I wasnt getting anywhere with a nornal cable but i bought one for £4.99 from CEX. The man in the shop explained i needed a cable that transfers data from the controller to the PS4... With the correct cable it worked in seconds!
