I did all that when I got my new iPhone, but it does not connect to WIFI when in the vehicle. I have to turn on cell data, which I didn't need to do before... help!
Even if not on apple car play and the phone is bluetooth connected. Can you automatically play music from your iTunes in the car since it is connected?
My contacts have downloaded to my ford sync but unlike sync 2 I couldn’t get my favorites anywhere? Is that not available in sync 3? Do I have to use Apple CarPlay for that?
Hello! I recommend checking out the Apple website, or other sources that show what year and what models that have android auto and Apple CarPlay. On my 2018 Edge I seem to have it.
so I have a 2013 ford explorer and iphone xr phone. my phone does not show any vehicles when it is searching. The vehicle does not have gps function. The phone has carplay. Do I have to sync useing that. I don't know what version snyc is in the vehicle. Ican't find that in the manual. The screen I have looks totally different
The screen you have in your 2013 Explorer is either the sync 1 with the 4 inch screen or the sync 2 with the 8 inch screen that’s why your screen is differerent . The screen you saw is sync 3 which came out in 2016.
That is a driver safety feature from Apple! It disables the camera so that the driver remains focused on the road when the phone is connected to CarPlay

try doing a master reset, hold down the radio power button and Forward for 30 seconds then let go, the Ford symbol should flash and it will say Ford Sync master reset complete-
