In this video I show you step-by-step how to connect a network capable printer to your network. We'll configure the ip address, install the software and print a test page to ensure you're all setup!

In this video I'm using the Dell 2155cdn which is a multi-function color laser printer. For the laptop I'm using the Dell Vostro V130 and the networking device is the Linksys WRT54G.
This video was shot in San Francisco.

This was the best, I contacted Dell and they were going to charge me $90 to setup my all in one to my router, and the printer was already connected, it just didn't recognize router. Woooow thaxs a million.

Amazing Adria! I was debating on this printer from the Dell website a month ago. Since I saw your demonstration and how easy it was to configure it, I now own it! Works like a charm. Just going to upgrade the memory to the maximum because I normally start doing more after I buy any type of technology from the basic usage.

@adriarichards Yes, finally found that I needed to set my IP on my Samsung, but the supplied software did not do the trick. Chatting with Samsung they gave me a browser link, then I was able to set IP and all is good now, thanks.

This is awesome. I've been battling using AirPort Extreme with the printer connected via USB. I just looked and there is an Ethernet port. Yahoo, I'm going to run it to the router and fix that problem hopefully. This came just in time. One major question, how did you come up with the IP address? I imagine there is some way to see what is available to use without conflicting with other devices? Thanks mucho.

Adria? I've got a Konica Minolta bizhub C35. I just got it. I can print off of Microsoft Word, Amazon on Firefox, and the test page that you walked me through comes out just fine. But it just won't print any pages of articles off of google chrome no matter what I do? I'm at my wits end! I don't have a menu button like you do on yours. Also, the "incorrect imaging unit" sign is always on. Thanks.

I have the wireless adapter but am having complications getting it linked with my DSL modem. Also, does this printer have the capability to receive from Android/IPhone and print from those devices wireless?

Nice video, but the problem is that the IP address are for example on a Linksys is 192.168.1.1, so 192.198.1.2 -192.168.1.254. 1 is the router IP and then you can configure 252 more devices on the network, although you can reserve the DHCP for each thing that you add which is recommended.

This was a great presentation. What about adding a locally installed printer to one of the computer within a network. Note that the printer has no Ethernet port. I am thinking that using a software like cybercafe pro is a solution but I am waiting to learn if it can be possible without aid of any application.

On the Dell 2130cn Color laser printer - the panel seems to be stuck in a loop stating to insert toner cartridges. Is there any way to bypass/reset the ptinter - I'm trying to find out if the printer is in good working order before purchasing toner cartridges for said printer.

hello, i work in a smaill co that is using an hp laserjet that is networked via usb. i'm trying to connect it with another workstation, but the computer i'm trying to connect it to cannot find the printer's IP address. in fact, i can't find the IP address anywhere. the computer i use in the same room, uses this printer as well with no problems, but doesn't give an IP address. do you know what's going on? thx!

Hello Adira, I have a problem I hope you can help with. I work in an office that has about 25+ employees. I have done all the steps you indicated. All the computers have been installed with the printer software. All computers and the printer have been connected to the network server. I am only able to get one computer to print documents from Microsoft word. All the rest can't. All the computer can print test pages with no problem. Is there something I am missing?

Hi Adria, i am using Macbook Pro wich is ISO to conect with the RICOH MP C3003. I have already try many time but it is not sucess connected. I got two question need to check with you, 1/ where can we get the IP address from? Do you take it from the router log in website ? 2/ Do we set up/install the software the mac first then Set up Printer next? 2/ Do i have to use ethernet cable connecting Mac to router? my canon mp495 prints and scans and everything wirelessly, but when i scan i can only print the scanned image, i cannot view the scanned image on the screen........how do i locate my scanned image so i can send it off via email?? is there a program for it since it calls itself a xerox workcentrePRO scanner, ....also i can send pics to the printer to print out, that works fine too.

Hi Mam. I need some help with my network printer Hp-p4014/4015 pcl6. Let me tell you how i connect this on my network. I have a PC a VOIP phone and a tplink router. Previously i dont have a tplink router so all was fine. But now when i connect a tplink router my printer has gone invisible. I connected my lan cable straight to voip phone. Another patch cable from voip phone to router. Then router to network printer. Now i need to know how can i set my printer up to a network.

My Dell 2155cdn does not have a wireless adapter, but I have it connected to my wireless router via ethernet. When I first got it used from an individual I could print to it wirelessly from my MacBook Air. I can no longer do it, and I tried using these steps but did not work. I have to physically connect my Macs to either the router or printer to use this printer. Can anyone help? Thanks.
