@@rodrigoc1980 yes we did, we had to go into the routing of the board and tell it that channels 25-32 were mapped to the 8 outputs of the USB card (it is all or nothing, so you loose 6 channel of input) then it worked. I will try to find the video on it, or get the correct terms for where to go to do it. I used the X32 app to do it from, but anything you do in there you can somewhere on mixer menus :)

Yes you can! The SD16 allows for those P16's to be power directly from the stage box on those Ultranet outputs. Just make sure you use a Shielded network cable or else the power won't work!

XLR is balanced so it’s better. I would run 2 XLRs straight from the S11 into DM3. It sounds like you might be using wireless mics, so there is one more thing I would like to point out if you are using wifi frequency wireless mic systems. In order to control the DM3 wirelessly you would need a router. And if you are using wireless mic systems on the 2.4/5.8 frequency range, you may get interference if you have them close together. To avoid interference, set the router and wireless mics to different frequency bands and spread them apart. So if you have a 2.4 mic system, get a 5.8 router and disable 2.4. If you have a 5.8 mic system, disable 5.8 on router. It doesn’t really matter if you are using VHF mic systems. Just make sure there aren’t any antennas clumped together. Also a quick note, antennas are supposed to point up, not towards the signal source. I know a lot of DJs also use wireless mics, so you have to be careful when adding any kind of new wireless equipment to the mix. If you get a lot of noise you may also want to get a power conditioner with isolated outputs. But at least with XLR, you can be pretty sure that any form of noise probably isn’t coming from that cable. It doesn’t matter nearly as much when you’re not running long cables, but XLR is still better so use it if you can. Also a good practice to not cross audio cables with power cables. I know you didn’t ask, but I hope this helped. 😂

@@kevinwang7894 I'm not a know it all, and i'm always looking to gain knowledge from someone more experienced than me. If I go the route of using XLR will i have to pan hard left/right? I think if I link the channels it might do it automatically... Yes, I do use wireless mics the Sennheiser EW-D system. They are the UHF band. Would I still need to take into consideration the 2.4 or 5Ghz spectrum? Thank you for your time.

@@Liftgymratt86 Most mixers will auto pan linked stereo channels, but it won't hurt to check. However, if you are only using a single speaker, you may want to hard pan everything to one side and just get a combined mono signal. There are also adaptor Y cables that combine a LR output into a single mono. With the EW-D you don't have to worry about interference nearly as much, but there are still things you should watch out for. First of all, try to keep a clear line of sight. Anything that gets in between disrupts the signal. So if you have a huge crowd, you may want to get external "paddle" antennas and stick them higher up. Those are directional, so you want to point them at the source. There are also directional antennas for higher frequencies like the router, which may help as well. But you don't want directional antennas for your home wifi router. If you don't have a router yet, you can get a small and portable one for a reasonable price. I think Drew actually featured one in one of his videos. I think the title is something like "How to set up a wifi network on X32". Finally, UHF is actually pretty confusing. I believe it goes from 300Mhz to 3Ghz, which includes 2.4Ghz and basically all wireless mic systems you can buy. The only exception would be 5.8Ghz systems, those are SHF I believe. Also a side note, 5Ghz is usually actually referring to a range centered on 5.8Ghz. So for these reasons, I recommend always finding out the actual frequency range instead of just looking at "UHF". But for people who don't know this, they may refer to "wifi frequencies" as "UHF" and anything under as "VHF". So it's just easier if you say the actual frequency range. To expand on that, generally the higher the frequency the shorter the range. But of course, there are other factors, so take it with a grain of salt. It is for this reason that a system on say 470Mhz is better than 5.8Ghz most of the time. Just try to avoid 2.4Ghz if you can, that range specifically is very crowded. So try to get a router that can do both 2.4 and 5.8 for flexibility. You still don't want any antennas close together, so space out the receiver and the router. It's just good practice. This is why you may want an external antenna. If you get more gear in the future and you rack mount them all in a single case, you can just whip out a couple antennas and spread those out. Ähm, yk the 48V Pin is not connected to the 3.5mm TRS. Just the Signal and Ground

@@technicgamerhd5380 48v are delivered over all three pins on the XLR connector. Hot and cold pins are connected to +48V and the ground pin is connected to the phantom DC supply's ground. TLDR: there is gonna be 48V between ground and hot/cold pins

@@null384 ih yeah, forgot XLR is Balanced. I one connected a Computer to XLR with an Analog Console which enables Phantom Power for all the ports, the laptop didn’t die. Probably some isolation logic in the cable

The transition will probably take you quite a while, at least mentally. But there is a lot more that can be done in less space with the digital boards.

@@davidhunt6508 I totally agree. I've been studying the X32 for a few months. I'm fighting cancer and have been placed on disablety and I am using my down time to watch hundreds of hours of RU-vid videos on the X32. The secret of digital boards is roughting and the understanding of roughting.

Well, as far as I know the only way would be sending mix in reaper to some X-USB channels, and then routing those channels on X32 to whatever bus you need. Sure, you lose some channels, ...and in my opinion it's kinda a sketchy setup, but again, as far as I know this is the only way to do so, due to X-USB limitations Edit: whoops, missed "all channels on the S32 are populated", well, then without using some additional hardware that is probably impossible... Edit 2: X-USB is 32ch in and 32ch out, not 48ch
