How to Convert Xbox 360 games to ISOs. This is useful for many different things including 360 emulation on PC and running the games directly on jailbroken Xbox consoles.

Hi Jack, thank you for such a great guide on saving a copy of your older games to an ISO. I've recently gotten back into retro gaming and a few of the games I own are hard to get in really good condition. Being able to get an iso and play them on my PC, greatly extends the life of my favorite games.

Thanks for posting. I recently cleanup my old Xbox 360 and attempted to fix disc trey because it was reading the disc. Unfortunately after all the trouble of cleaning and diy videos disc still doesn’t read unless I tap the top of Xbox . So I’m hoping I can do this to preserve and continue enjoying the games I do have on disc

I'd still recommend a USB 3 drive, since USB 2 drives are often much slower than even the advertised USB 2 bandwidth. I have one, for example, that only writes at around 10 MB per second, despite USB 2 advertising 80 MB per second (480mbps).

The fact is that XB360 games are copy protected, few knows that a drive with custom firmware called "KREON's" can create authentic rip of XB360 then patch it with ABGX360 and it will work even with burned DVDs and xb360 with LT 3.0 All this directly from Windows, without passing from an Xbox

@@DustyOrchid057 I don't remember really good because I don't make these things since 2014 when I moved to PC.. But yes.. on eBay I found (Reading on the internet) a Windows DVD reader (not writer tho) SATA and then with a special tool I flashed the custom firmware KREON's, so then using Xbox Backup Creator (a famous tool you can find online) it recognizes the drive and allow me to entirely backup XB360 games But with AP2.5 or XGD3 games the thing was different.. I managed to copy some of them but I needed strong patches to apply directly from ABGX tool You need to copy separate things and little files from XBC then push them in the ISO using ABGX.. a total fucking mess up hahahha but It worked (I have an Xbox 360 Slim with X-K3Y installed.. best so far because you can run ISOs from HDD while using Xbox LIVE and play online with zero ban risk, but modded games didn't work on that, just Microsoft Signature games, so that's different from RGH/JTAG.. ahh good old days) Sorry for wrong english, I'm from Italy Check out this www.360-hq.com/download-file-165.html

A bit late to the party :-} Just dug out my XBOX360 (Wasabi Hacked). I have several folder structures that were made using XBOX 360 ISO Extract by somski. These are run by copying all files to a usb or hd and then launching from a file named "default.xex". What I am trying to figure out is how to reverse these back to ISO format. Any ideas on how to do this?

What do you do if its not a 44kb file and doesn't have a folder with it? ALl my games I downloaded onto the flash drive are just big files. I opened them with velocity and it shows more details like all the info is there but idk how to convert it. Is it because the games are indie games? Someone help please

Hi Own GTA5 on xbox 360 and I have managed to convert DISC 2 into an ISO file following your steps. Then when I use Xenia Master and Xenia Canary, both Xenia apps close down when the disc 2 iso for GTA5 is loading. I tried following the steps to convert DISC 1 (install disc) of GTA5 to an ISO. However, when I insert disc 1 into the xbox 360 console and highlight the game, press X on xbox 360 controller to view Game Details, it does not give me an option to install (to usb stick) only gives me an option to Play Now. I am doing something wrong? Is GTA5 a game this process does not work for? Is there something wrong with Xenia app? Help appreciated thanks.

Is converting to a ISO file a legal way to make a copy of games you own? Just wondering because I would like to emulate games with out it being illegal.

Its legal as long as you do not share the files.

It's like making an ISO of a DVD to my knowledge. In that case, it's legal, but you're wasting space since DVD compression is terrible when compared to re-encoding. What's good about this is that making an ISO of a game never wastes much space.

Hey I recently purchased a modded Xbox I can’t tell if its jtag or RGH but I’m able to play non Microsoft disc (at least the ones he gave me when I got the console ) I been trying to get help on seeing how i can check when mod my Xbox has so I can download more free games

hey, so what is up with the 44kb file? I have multiple games installed onto my usb, one of them does have a 44kb file (it came from a disc that I own) but all of my other games that are digital (That I fully own and bought on the Microsoft store) don't have the 44kb file. What is up with that?

Dk if you ended uo figuring it out but 360mp can convert ISOs into GODs and vica versa (which is what arcade games are and anything installed from the store)

@@anidiot789 i had an easier time going in xex menu with my usb plugged in and i put in the game disk and pressed x and went all the way down to copy dvd. If you do this you need to create a new game folder in your usb drive with the title of whatever game you are downloading. Once you copy them in that game folder on your usb drive you can plug the drive into ur pc and the files should all be in .ISO format

Can I burn these iso's to DVD disk and will they play on an Xbox in another room? I want to make a copy for each system so each will have its own disk and I can stop looking all over the house for them? Ultimately, I only want to use the original disk once, just to make copies then only use the copies to play the games, if that makes sense 😉

Now open up xbox iso extractor and after extraction, copy it onto a usb drive and plug it into you modded xbox 360. copy it to your hard drive as a breeze. however!!! I'm saying this for downloaded games with such format. otherwise, just put your dvd on the console and you can copy directly.

Idk if you still care since this comment was a year ago but u have to jailbreak your pc to get games from computer onto ur xbox. U should use canary instead
