Omg! We just purchased our first Blackstone grill and used it for the first time today!!! I am more than thrilled to have found the Waltwins👨🍳👨🍳 I absolutely love watching these two and how helpful these videos are! You guys rock and get us excited about using our new grill and finding new ways to cook so many delicious foods!!!!! Thank you guys so much👌👌
I am buying a Blackstone Gribble because of your videos. Over the weekend I got another brand griddle from our local academy store but it did not workout. While trying to season the griddle it concaved in the middle so I brought it back. My gut told me to buy a Blackstone, so here I am shopping for my new Blackstone griddle. I am buying some of those Farberware EdgeKeeper Chef's Knifes... thx for the tip!! keep up the videos guys...
Wow, that is so awesome - not the part about the other griddle folding, but on the fact that you are getting a Blackstone! We love them for sure!! Thank you so much for watching and for looking into the knives too! This video is nearly a year old, and we are still using the same knives! Take care and GRIDDLE ON brother!🔥🔥🤙🤙
I am not sold on just the salt and pepper only seasoning...I have a religious affiliation with Montreal Steak seasoning...but the end product looked amazing...love the cut of the ribeye...also...for those that are new...Brett has a subliminal rating system, its the arm flick finger snap, he did four in this video...scale is to three...so this must have been amazing!!!
Hahaha! Yep, when Brett throws out the signature finger snap, you know it was good! We aren’t big on the Montreal, but would never disrespect you for your religious affiliation!😜. Love you bro!🤙🤙
@@waltwins Love the "finger snap!!!" Did it constantly when I was younger!!! At my age I'd risk breaking a finger!!! Lol!!! Great video as usual, guys!!!
Oh heck yes fam!! We did a Filet mignon video and a tomahawk steak vid that shows our favorite method for cooking steaks - so good fam! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I've been real skeptical on cooking a steak on my blackstone, after watching this im cooking some on it to day for mothers day. Have to try this out. Thanks guys
Recently got a pro series 5 burner griddle by members mark and been watching a lot of your guys videos you guys are a lot of help and so great to the community please make more different kinds of recipes I wanna use only my griddle for cooking now lol
Agreed! We kept a close eye, and it was juicy all the way to the last bite - we were worried it may overcook, but it was great! Next time 2 minutes per side would be ideal. Thanks so much for watching!🤙🤙
You guys are great. You explain every detail about everything. Did you let the cook steak 3 minutes on each side or five just curious. Where did you buy the Blackstone how much was it?
Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words fam! Great question! This was an older video, but I believe we did do 3-4 minutes per side (internal temp to 120, for our preference). This unit we picked up at Walmart, but 2 years ago it was $592 dollars, not sure what they are now. We also now use a Pit Boss Sierra 3 burner from Walmart ($297), and other Pit Boss ceramic top griddles - we love them all! :D
Wife got me a Blackstone for Christmas. Started watching your videos. I’m hooked! Thanks for the videos. I will be cooking on the Blackstone any chance I get. Chicken fried rice came out amazing. I’m doing the surf n turf tomorrow.
Blackstone is awesome for a steak. I like to reverse sear with it. Put it on my Egg until it comes up to 100 degrees indirect will give extra flavor without losing much of the juiciness. Yum. Good video.
gd..this is what ive been waiting on.. ribeyes! best steaks there is! I do mine a lot like yours. After 3 min sear on both sides, I add a half stick or more of butter on the griddle and season the butter with..whatever.. and throw the steaks on the butter..both sides just enough to coat it and take them off and scoop all the butter on to the steak. Asparagus on the griddle while the steaks rest are a standard at our place. I really think griddle cooking steaks is definitely the way to go. Open flame, grill style just dries it out.
Brother! We should have consulted you before the cook! 😜 We legit were wondering if we should do the butter, but held off at the last minute. Your way is brilliant! We’ve wanted to do the asparagus on the griddle - something we’ll consider for sure for the next steak vid! Thanks so much man!🤙🤙
Just bought a Blackstone after visiting my daughter and son in Law. He hooked me on it. After checking here I have found the Waltwins and have watched so many videos and you guys are the best. I'm starting out with your chicken LoMein and on from there. I'm hoping everyone turns out as good as yours look on here. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. I can see another 25+ pounds in my future. Tomorrow is day one.
Oh wow! This is the best fam!! Thank you so much for watching and for finding us! Our chicken Lo Mein continues to be one of our all-time favorite cooks, so good!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Guys, it was OUTSTANDING. I added shrimp and beef and turned iut into house special Lo Mein and the neighbor came over and we really en joyed this meal. Nexgt we are going to the steaks. Thanks for your recipes. I'm really going to enjoy this thing.
Just found this while looking for cooking chicken legs on my Blackstone, you guys rock! I did think your ribeye was a little over done for my taste lol. Keep posting so this new guy with a Blackstone might learn a few things!
Haha! That is awesome! Thank you so much for watching! We’ll keep posting for sure!! We’ve done steaks several times since this video, and we actually prefer the method we used on filet mignon here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6xT7z3luz0o.htmlsi=cOlExYsnp85G9X3p Take care fam!!🔥🔥
Salt and pepper on red meat is very good. You guys are awesome. First meal on my new Blackstone was smash burgers last weekend. What I’ve got to know though is “What is your background music? “ I think is is really festive!
So awesome fam! We’ve cooked smashburgers more than any other item on our Blackstone, so good!! The music is by DJ Quads - we love his vibe! Unfortunately, it’s really hard to get a license for the music. While it’s “non-copyright,” we know that could change at any time so we’ve stopped using it. It really is my favorite! The two songs we used are called “Extraordianire” and Cruising Around.” You can find both on RU-vid!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Fantabulous lookin steak guys. I used to think the fastest way to ruin a steak was to cook it on a flat top, then I got my Blackstone and it changed my mind. I still think a charcoal grill is the best, but if we all thought the same way this would be a boring world. Awesome cook guys as usual. I finally got a day off so I'm gonna be watching and commenting on a lot of your videos today. Keep up the great work guys.
Wow, thank you for all the love fam, we appreciate you watching! We agree! We didn’t have a regular grill for a long time, so we had to learn how to make good steaks on the flat top - it is amazing for sure!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Love it . Got my Blackstone 22 and the table from them. Love it. Seasoned it last night for 3 hours. Gonna do the steak tonight with hibachi rice. Cant wait. Keep up the great work and videos.
Thank you so much for watching! We had the dial set to medium heat, since the video is a few years old, we’re not quite sure the exact temp. We prefer a different method, searing the steak at high heat, then moving it to a medium/low section of the griddle and basting the steak in butter - it’s amazing!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6xT7z3luz0o.htmlsi=opUdrsb7F5AzU_TR
I did ribeyes on the Camp Chef 600 and loved them more than on my Webber. People need to recognize thick meats can be done on griddles easily. When you go to a fancy steakhouse, chances are they're cooking them on a flat top. See any chimneys at those joints? Nah! Griddle life 4TW. Well done gentlemen.
That's a good looking ribeye I'm one of the guys who has to have my steak still bleeding 1 minute aside is all I do I'm a big fan of the filet that's my fav ribeyes definitely my second thanks for another great video 🥩😀
I was afraid of even more hate for the bone, but my grocer had porterhouse for 5.77/lb. I couldn't resist. I nearly chickened out and did them on the grill, but am so glad I didn't. No marinade, just heavy on the coarse salt on the strip side for 4 hours to tenderize. Patted dry and ba-boom! Rocked the steak, sautéed asparagus and garlic toast all on the Blackstone, along with baked potato (inside job). My household is in a coma and I'm just getting over the meat sweats. Mother's day was a success. Thanks!
Yes!!! That is so awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! We did some filet mignon for Mother’s Day, I almost feel like we can’t do steak any other way than on the Blackstone!😄😄. Take care fam and GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Gonna try this today. Have 5 thin cut ribeyes. Two have to be well done (at least no pink) and the other 3 medium. I will do the sear the same for all 5, but guess I need to take temps to ensure I don’t overcook the mediums. Any advice on temp to pull the mediums off the direct heat? They will continue to cook while resting...
Yes, the only thing I can think is that a thermometer will help, and pull them off just before you think you should - I do try same with bacon to make sure I don’t overcook. Hope this helps! Take care!🤙🤙
WALTWINS the 5 ribeyes turned exactly as I planned. 3 at medium and 2 well done. I used the internal thermometer to ensure I pulled the mediums off to indirect heat and plate to reach the appropriate temp! Even my well done ribeyes were juicy thanks to the sear. Will be doing this again!
Tony Bruno yyyyyeeeeesssss!!! I love it! We love steaks on the griddle - even better once we figured out how to get the cook down! Thank you for sharing Tony!
Back at it again?! Does your griddle ever cool down? Loved this one! Ribeye, my fave! I do mine just a tad pinker! Thanks again from Stumptown, Oregon! 👍
Yes!! Thank you so much again man! In all honesty, we agree, the Blackstone didn’t cool down quick enough after the sear, and Brett was cooking it like it was a 2” cut - (we edited out his realization...🤣) - still more pink in the middle and delicious! Ribeye is best with that pink though 🤙🤙
@@waltwins oh man, we had family over I did 14 steaks and boom -finger snap- lol Tomorrow Doing pancakes and using the left over steak to do a couple omelette’s
The blackstone does cook up some great steaks, it’s like using a huge cast iron pan which I do too. It looked really juicy. What are your favorite toppings or sides for steaks? Awesome job brothers!
Hey man, thanks so much! We grew up always having mash potatoes with steak, so that’s alway a go to, we also really like asparagus (done right), or really any medley of potatoes. Always love tossing some butter on top of a hot steak, and at times, I’ll dabble with A-1. 🤙
Awaiting our first Blackstone 22 inch, just found your channel! Looking forward to viewing your select Blackstone recipes... You two are a riot. Just starting to view your channel.
I love your videos, very entertaining and informative. The one suggestion I would like to make is that it would be very helpful, especially for newbies like me, if in the beginning you were to share the temperature you are using when cooking your various meals. I noticed you do on some videos, but others you do not. Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching and for the suggestion - many of the videos you may see that don’t, we’re our older videos - we try to make it a habit to show or explain where the knobs are turned. We’ll do better going forward too! Take care and thank you again!🤙🤙
HAHAHAHAHA, Smell check... I love it. Great job guys. I cooked some rib-eye steaks Sunday and they were delicious too! Thank you again for sharing another amazing video.
Waltwins, you guys rock. What do you think about cooking a 1 inch ribeye 5 min on both side after the sear? My wife refuses to to eat a steak with pink inside. Medium Well for her. I'm loving the griddle. Have the 36 in with air fryer and the 17 in for quick cooking..
Oh wow, that is so awesome, thank you so much for watching man! Yes! That would be great, and most likely just the way your wife would like it, my wife is the same way, she prefers medium/medium well. Take care!🤙🤙
We just got our Black stone, watched your videos and made the hamburgers first. They were fabulous. Can’t wait to try the chicken fried rice next. I have subscribed to your channel and am watching all the videos I can find of you guys… you are a riot. I hope you continue to make more . Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow, thank you so much for watching and subscribing! We absolutely love cooking on the Blackstone, and we promise to keep the videos coming!🤗🤗. Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Sear the steak on high for 1-2 minutes to get crust. Temp on low on other side of griddle. Place on a rack and put dome over it and finish slowly to 130 den and pull. Best way to do it.
We have not! But we will for sure give it a try - I saw it on the shelf at the store the other day, and knowing others rave about it, I almost grabbed it - will do for sure next time. Thank you so much for watching and for the great recommendation!🤙🤙
Did some ribeyes on the BS last night following your suggestions. They turned out excellent. I will probably never do steaks on a charcoal grill again.
Yes!!! Thank you for sharing! The hate for cooking steak on the BS is real! But you know what? So is the delicious taste of said steaks, right?!😜 Thank you so much for watching!🤙🤙
I was told for med to med well 7-8 mins per side on low to medium. They always come out well done or more. I’m definitely going to do it your way 2 mins per side and see how it turns out. Thanks for the videos.
Hello, you had mentioned needing a large tray to carry food into the house. If you are close to an Arabic store, they sell small to very large stainless steel trays. Perfect for what you are looking for. It has a 1-2 inch lip to keep food on the tray.
New sub from Knoxville Tennessee. First family meal on the new Blackstone, big thanks! Steaks came out great. Starting a new Carnivore diet, so will be referencing your channel more. Still wondering if you guys are REALLY twins, or is it a computer trick? Either way, you guys(or one real guy?) are great!
Haha! Thank you so much fam! Yes, we are indeed twins, as one viewer once put it, we are “freakishly identical…” 😂😂. We love griddle cooking and sharing what we learn. We’re so happy the cook was a success!! Congratulations fam, GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥
Did my first ribeye on the flat top tonight. Final verdict... It was okay, but I still 100% prefer it on the grill. At least for a ribeye for sure. It's hard to beat the char flavor and when actual flames hit that fat, magic happens that you don't get cooking it any other way. On the grill I do mine with the cover closed, get it up around 450, 1 min 15 then twist, 1 min 15 then flip, 1 min 15 then twist, final min 15 and a thick ribeye is an exquisite medium rare with a great char. Occasionally you pop the lod open and do a little fire fighting with a spray bottle of water to keep it from becoming a raging inferno, but you want those flames jumping up and kissing your steak for sure.
Cooked ribeyes for the wife and I on the blackstone. I use s&p, onion powder, a dash of Wyler's beef powder and garlic powder. One of THE best steaks I have ever had! No joke. Thanks for another great vid guys :)
@@waltwins OH! I forgot! Another key ingredient is BUTTER! Real butter mind you, Irish, free roaming grass fed salted type if you can get it. When the steak is almost done (not at beginning, it will burn) just put a pat of butter down and smear the steak around in it, flip and repeat.
It’s crazy for ppl to say that the black stone is the wrong tool. How many times have we heard that you can cook a steak in a cast iron? Same thing! I cooked four prime ribeyes this weekend on my blackstone however i started them on the pellet grill for 30 minutes at 220, then finished them off on the blackstone. Turned out AMAZING!!!
@@waltwins thanks for responding. I cook 6 last night and they were really good. Only thing I did was melt butter on them while they cooked. Enjoy y’all’s videos!!
@@mikeflippo6273 oh for sure! We recently did both a filet mignon and a Tomahak steak coon video - both we basted with butter - best way to do steaks!!🤙🤙
It’s hard for me to make out…. Would you say that steak is rare, or med rare? I like the meat red inside maybe leaning toward pinkish…. And it’s hard for me to make out which yours is; thanks.
@@John-yr3lp oh gotcha! I believe this is the music from DJ Quads - you should be able to find it on RU-vid! The songs we use are Extraordinaire and Crusin’ Around. 🤙🤙
Hey! Thanks so much for watching! Originally from Utah, but we are in Florida now, Brett is just outside Gainesville, we shoot our vids where I live just outside Orlando.🤙🤙
