Hi Mrs. Debbie, I just shared this boiling yam recipe on my Facebook page, because so many people I know that had Jamaican parents, but didn’t get to learn all cooking from them, can cherish these recipes and be taken back in time when they eat your recipes. So grateful for you, Arlene (Miami)

Thanks Mommy! You 😜 make a great teacher, I from South Africa and always appreciate our African Diaspora and want to learn how to make Jamaican Breakfast! You inspired me. Thank you.
Thank you Ms Debbie. You are an excellent teacher. I’ve learned a lot from this video. The whole salting process, and what to do if your hands get itchy after touching yam. I remember my hands itching me after touching yam as a little girl. That experience was no joke, and my mum never even told me how to combat that problem 😂
Thanks Mrs. Debbie. Here in Florida following your instructions to a tee. I've been craving some healthy starches since I can hardly digest rice and things anymore. Finding that I digest yam & banana just fine. 🙏🏾♥️

Thank you. I’m in my 50s and I haven’t eaten my Grandma’s food since I was a little girl, but I remember it like yesterday. Steam pouring down the walls of the basement kitchen. I may still be able to recreate the experience with your guidance. Off to check out your other videos x
Hi Debbie down a yard, I'm a novice when it comes to cooking of any nature but let me tell you, I watched your video and you are so knowledable about boiling provisions. I DID EXACTLY what you demonstrated and the food turned out great. I will be following you from now on😂Ive even taken a photo but cant seen to upload it for you to see😢2
Teresa G she passionate in what she doing Am a real good cook but Not going on RU-vid because too negative and it makes no sense So big up yourself and nuff Respect 💯 one love
Miss Bebbs thank you for the education. I will be trying your version as i did not know about putting the lime or the juice of lemon into the water to keep your water clear. I would also love to try this with the plantain you fry as I like to eat it boiled.
Love the vidieos Miss Debbie! Learnt a lot. Real authentic Jamaican cooking. You can also add a cabbage leaf or a clove of garlic, crushed to the cooking liquid to keep the bananas pretty. Keep up the good work. Bless!
My food came out sooo good clean and pretty thank u so much! What I did find was the yam was turning brown oxidizing while I was peeling it so I ran it under cool water while I was peeling and that worked. Is that what I was supposed to do or are there other tricks? I used vinegar in the water and they came out so good! 💜
Miss Debz, me an yu are same age and I never know certain things. My fry dumpling taste better because of you unuh! On da bwoil dumpling, my mom always put on miggle or top because she said the dumpling will stick pon di pot bottom. But if I cookin banana wid other hard food, I ALWAYS put dem on top because they are delicate once boiled and nobody want mash up banana in dem plate. I have to have it whole or I bex lol
Miss Debbie this was soooo good thank you. I have a little question. Like how when dumpling sink when it cook. How can you tell when the banana them cook?
