Funny story: my little one just came to me and asked me to make her the porridge that her grandma used to make for her. I immediately came here… I knew that Ms. Debbie would give me the perfect recipe here…. She’s the reason I can make salt fish perfectly. Thank you so much for the work you do. You’re over here changing lives ❤

Good night Ms Debbie and Camera Girl. I want to say thank you for this video. I don't eat cornmeal porridge but my children did and I use to make it but as I was never shown how I use to make it up and it use to come out lumpy thick but tasty. My mother has dementia and it's getting worse. I wanted to know the basic way to cook it so that I can make it for my grandbabies. (I have four) I'm British Jamaican so all we use to eat was cereal like cornflakes and weetabix we never want cornmeal porridge. I thank you for this video. I hope you have a great holiday manners and respect.
I.LOVE.YOU. SOOOOOO MUCH!! You remind me of my mother in law, that passed away. Your videos remind me so much of our cooking days with her. May God continue to bless you and your channe! 🥰
I love corneal porridge my mother cooked it when I was a child, unfortunately I cannot cook Jamaican dishes. Left Jamaica as a child and never fussed around the kitchen I preferred playing outdoors. Lots of Caribbean restaurants here and the dishes are amazing!
Learning never stops. I thought I had to put cornmeal in the boiling water slowly. sometimes I figured out a way for it to not clump but other times I just sweetened it enough to not care.
I love your videos. My grandmother fed us cornmeal porridge every morning....I miss her and love her. Miss Debbie, have you put a video out for Tun Cornmeal? Would you please do that? Manners and Respect!
Hi miss debbie have been watching you from Trinidad . You cook my kinda food . I also like the way u teach . Hi to our camera girl . Good job . I'm wondering whether the cinnamon leaf isn't what we refer to as ""bay leaf " her in TNT . I DO USE IT WHEN ITS DRIED . HERE'S TO YOU AND YOUR JAMAICAN KITCHEN .

Oh mama debs..i will make this tomorrow morning..its freezing here in montreal and i need this to warm me up and to get rid of the cold thats creeping in my body, love you as always, manners and respect xoxoxo
Miss Debbie. I hope you're not going to be offended. But I wanted to correct you and camera girl. The word you wanted was infused. When the spices are infused in the water. Not defused.
@@joyhallunstoppable4307 I think you misunderstood what I'm referring to. I was talking about when she asked camera girl for the word that means the spices were infused in the water. And she said defused. But its not a big deal. I just thought she might want to know what the word was.
🙋🏾okay..7:12minsec you answered my questions, thanks soo much in being thorough. You boil water without and add powdered cinnamon and nutmeg to cornmeal mixture. I got it.
