🤔 I make 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water, bring to a boil, turn to low, and let it simmer with the lid on for 20 minutes, then fluff. With Parboiled rice, I let it sit for 5 more minutes with the lid on, but no heat. Both come out perfect every time. 😋 I love rice. Sometimes I just mix in Cheddar cheese and eat it for dinner. 👍👍

@SuspiciousGanymede

I have an easy method for rice: you need a pot with a covered lid to start though . 1.Bring water to a boil, add a dash of salt. 2. Add rice, just enough so there is roughly 1/2" of water covering it. Stir the rice so it does not stick to the bottom 3. Reduce heat to low and cover pot with lid. Wait 25mins- 50mins depending on how fresh the rice is, occasionally stirring gently every 10-15 minutes to be sure nothing sticks to the bottom of the pot. DO NOT OVER STIR THE RICE, that is what makes it gluey/gluten-y. I know how hard it is to not mix the rice when checking, it's all about restraint and patience. There is really no fix to adding excess water, but if your rice is dry and half crunchy it's OK to add a few tablespoons.

Use a large enough pot to give the steam "room" as it cooks. Also, another thing you can do to get an even cook is to allow the rice and water to soak for about 15 minutes before turning on the burner. Thank you AP, sometimes these simple things can make a big difference in the final result of our meal.

Thanks for the video, I agree with your method but in my home we wash the rice and look for things that don't belong as we do. I add about 2 table spoons of butter and 1/2 table spoon of salt. Stir and following the rest of your instructions. But if you want to spice it up, you can add bullion cubes to the water, or use onion/chicken/beef stock instead of water this will bring a much needed change to cooking rice long term.
