Today I am showing How to Cook Pork Steaks on the Grill Easy | Pit Smoked Pork Steaks Recipe Over Coals. We are using our Pit Barrel Cooker with B&B oak briquettes with hickory wood chunks. And for something new, we are using Uncle Tom's All-Purpose Seasoning & BBQ Meat Rub. This rub was sent to me by a member of The Dawgpound who happens to be a pitmaster himself. Big Thanks to Tom Sandquist for sending this rub to me!

I guess I've been picking up the wrong pork steaks. The ones I've always managed to pick up looked nothing like those you have. Mine were always as thin as a 1/2" to 3/4" and not evenly cut. Those looked fantastic from the start but that's not taking away those two fine pieces of deliciousness that you produced! Man you knocked it out of the park with this one as well!!

We love pork steaks, I usually carve up a pork butt into steaks myself, remove the blade bone and slice. I know that cooker is mainly a hanger but that in and out with the rebar over and over when using the grate would drive me crazy. I'd make some small wads of foil and fit them into the holes leaving the same opening size as if the bars were still there. Nice cook- these are on my menu this weekend for sure.

@TheDawgfathasBBQ

The pit barrel is designed to bot cause flare ups as long as the lid is on. You can do the same in your cooker by co trolling the air flow and just paging attention to your smoke coming from your grill.

@dannyhines1799
@dannyhines1799 4 года назад
Okay I think I have an issue. First off this looked extremely delicious so I had to try it myself. I drive a truck for a living but I have a small charcoal grill that I use when I have any time off out over the road. I want a head and got some pork steaks, bought a rub but I could not find the one used here, some barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar. Here was the issue: the cook went great it looks beautiful at the end although I forgot to take a picture. But the sauce / vinegar kind of overpowered the rub so I couldn't taste it. There was a hint of rub but it was mostly the sauce. So I'm wondering if it was just a case of the rub not being great or did I use too much sauce or what do you think? It's still tasted amazing but most of what I tasted was the sauce and vinegar mix. Thanks again for the video please keep them coming!

Brother it's all good. It's a fine line we walk. A LOT has to change and I absolutely agree with that 100%. The FACT of the matter is not all things are cut and dry. Again while I understand a LOT of what is happening these days, I for one take it case by case and decide how to react to it. I absolutely had a great conversation with Tom and i feel comfortable with the guy and what we talked about. I don't consider there to be any mal intent there at all. I actually have a couple other uncle --- rubs. As long as we have constructive dialogue and respect each other's beliefs that's all we can ask for. Thank you for airing your view on this and for the dialogue. We're all good bro.

I wish we lived in a world where everyone was kind and "provocative" statements were never taken as offensive, but now is not that time.
