Crowd Cow presents: How To Cook Wagyu Beef
Incredibly marbled and best enjoyed with friends, our authentic A5 Japanese Wagyu will make you the hit of the holidays. Host a tasting event or give it as the ultimate food gift.
We recommend cooking your A5 Wagyu a little bit at a time, cooking small strips and eating as you go. We also strongly recommend never cooking Wagyu over an open flame.
Bite-size portions. Slice into small strips and cook each one at a time. With A5 Wagyu, a little goes a long way, so savor and enjoy as you go.
Season. Sprinkle a little sea salt (e.g. sel gris), to taste. Pepper is okay, too. Season lightly so you can savor and enjoy the flavor of the meat itself. Alternatively, you can season after cooking the meat. The choice is up to you.
Cook on Stainless Steel. Sear the meat (slices approximately 1-inch by 4-inches) directly on the hot surface of the pan for 1 to 2 minutes per side. There is no need to add oil whatsoever. The fat from the A5 will melt out and provide more than enough for cooking.

Ik this comment is old, but I also purchased the a5 wagyu petite striploins. It was alright, but had a large line of fat with chewy gristle in the middle. How did u cook yours & how did it come out? I seared mine at room temp for 30sec on med high heat steel pan. Got a nice crust but the fat wasn't as tender as I hoped, so seared both sides on med high heat for extra 30 sec per side. Much better but that gristle area was still chewy

I was told to get a cast iron skillet put butter in it or olive oil turn it up and tires it'll go then you add the Olive oil put the steak on the pan and Sear all edges for 3 to 5, depending on thickness, and then put it in the oven for 350 for additional 3 to 5 minutes
@slipperypete343
@slipperypete343 5 лет назад
Never use oil or butter when cooking with A5 Wagyu beef, it's pointless with the fat content with that high grade beef. Also simply searing the beef and leaving it to be rare/medium rare is the best cooking method, it tends to be overcooked when seared then roasted and I just prefer a simple pan sear because it's the traditional way of cooking Wagyu. With thicker cuts just use a little more time in the pan, but with thin cuts 30 seconds to a minuet on each side should be good and give you the perfect rarity you're looking for.

DONT season before pan searing if you’re going to do that Atleast cook it in a immersion circulator then give it a quick sear and salt only AFTER you cook it while cooking in the immersion circulator you can have fresh herbs garlic (don’t do powder seasoning unless you don’t mind overpowering a bit) then sear it over propane or else you’ll get hints of the wood you cooked over and it might ruin the flavor
