In this video we look how to raise the rear trunk lid / tailgate on a Range Rover L405. This involves removing the spoiler and then loosening the bolts so the tailgate position can be adjusted.
Just got my first RR. These videos are priceless, not just so can do the work yourself but also arming yourself with knowledge to prevent being charged for unnecessary or wrong work.
For starters, thank you again for taking the time to create these videos. When I close my tailgate, I get the warning that it is open and I can’t lock the truck. Instead I get the two faint horn beeps. I will try adjusting mine, but if that’s not the case, I’d there a way of “fooling” the truck into thinking it’s closed (even though it already is) Maybe jump a sensor wire or something similar? Thank you!
Well Im a level 3 and level 4 certified JLR panel beater, yes your video is good cause it can help someone who have no idea yet to do so. I suggest also to you to make video on how to remove evoque rear trunk lid.
Hi Guys, Great video and applicable to so many L405's, is this the same set up for an L494? I am going to attempt the alignment on my RR Sport 2018 myself as my dealer has said it is an expensive operation requiring parts. I will video my attempt and if successful will confront my Dealer.
My has similar drop in the boot. I have full RR extended warranty, would the boot lid adjustment be covered under warranty? As the car is going for some warranty work soon.
I've got a Range Rover Sport 2016 and up to now its been great. Just noticed that when it rains water somehow gets in the tailgate, not into the boot but in between the inner and outer skin of the tailgate. So when i open the tailgate water pours out of the lock mechanism. Have you come across this before if so what was the problem? Thanks in advanced for any information.
Excellent videos. I will be re-aligning mine soon, but I have a different issue to deal with first. I have been getting low battery warnings and my tailgate won't open. It unlocks lifts a fraction then locks again. I can force it up, but it feels like it is trying to close against me (unless it is merely the weight of the tailgate). I have put a charger on the battery to see if that fixes the issue. Any ideas?
I have a 2009 RR L320my and it’s totally different at the top we’re the hinge connects to tail gate. Do you have any recommendations on aligning that tailgate? Second question what is the part number for the electrical hosts. My 2009 did come with electrical hosts but one failed and I can’t find any replacement. no part numbers on either electrical hoists.
Hi William - the part number changed a few times but the latest PN is LR062078 ( engineering PN CH3270354AD ) They are £237 each retail from Land Rover.
Hi guys. I've just bought a previously loved 2014Jag XF Sportbrake with the same tailgate alignment issue. Before I get busy with my socket set, would you think adjustment will be the same as with your RR?
Hello again....do you have a video on how to remove the inner tailgate plastic panel (just below the rear window) on a 2016 L405? I am trying to tint my rear window and this panel is making to difficult squeegee the bottom section. Thanks!
@@L663 Hello Simon! I just watched the video and it helped me out a great deal. I couldn't have done it without your expertise. Thanks a lot for making this video on my behalf and also for the mention 🙂! You guys are awesome!!!
@@jhunt1260 No worries.... I am sure you are not really a gangster and hope your tinting efforts are better than mine ! I made 17p on the video in loose change !
@@L663 LOL!! No gangster here Simon just trying to hide behind this mofia heat here in Texas. Our springs are hot and summers hotter🔥!! 17p isn't a bad find, glad I could be of assistance 😉!
