I wish I could like this video 100x over! Thank you so much. I am a black woman and have struggled to find a simple and effective tutorial for colour correcting dark skin tones on YT. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ❤
Hi Brad, I have been struggling with skintones for a while now, Got some clarity after watching this and would like to connect with you. I just subscribed also
@@Brad_West For sure I’ll get to this content every once in a while, until I’ll be able to get the hang of it. I’m soooooo THANKFUL to you, seriously 💙🙏🏼🎉👑
Thank you so much this was so helpful! I have cerebral palsy and am wheelchair bound and I am incredibly white and no matter what I do I can’t tan all I can do is burn so I’m always so white on camera no matter what camera I use. I look like I’m Irish lol .So this is going to be a lifesaver! I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to do this for ages!
Though I dont use color grading too much since its difficult and little bit time consuming - - But the last tip is cooool. Donot always go with the 'Standard', use it as a guideline and implement ur idea :)
Yeah grading can be pretty time consuming but it’s a great way to dial in a look for your edits and to get your clips to match nicely in terms of color/brightness, etc. glad you enjoyed the video 😊🤙🏼
Thanks very much. Enjoyed it and learned something - I can refer back to this video to practice. My only criticism is that the music is very monotonous and conflicts with your excellent presentation. But thank you!

Would it be wise to use an adjustment layer set just for skin tone? One with the color mask already applied? Or would that typically be too general for multiple skin tones?
I think it would differ from shot to shot. If your white balance is different or you’ve shot in different lighting conditions, one adjustment layer would typically be too general. But, you could use that as a starting point and just make adjustments to individual clips where needed 😊👍🏼
When I hit color mask, mine often times doesn’t allow me to actually see the guidelines of the mask. And the dropper tool also doesn’t allow me to select any one thing in particular. Any help?
