Forgive me for all my thoughts. My understanding of the meaning of ho, is that it means, I have. Which of course makes perfect sense in the sentence. I would suggest that a better way to translate the sentence is, "I have left the keys at home. " Not that you can change it now. lol I guess it is for all those reading the comments and have strange minds like mine.

The way she put is the proper in Italy if she put I have left the keys at home it is going to be writing wrongly which is io ho lasciato le chiavi a casa English and Italian language are not written same

Ciao Valentina, so the ci sound changes from chee sound when there is an s in front to more of a she sound is that right?

Yes, "sc" has two sound as well as "c". When "sc" is followed by "i" or "e" it's pronounced as in "shoe", otherwise it's pronounced as in "sky". @@michelemurphy4436 Non preoccuparti Michele, una piccola distrazione. Here's a quick tip: when writing down a sentence, read that aloud. If it doesn't sound correct, read it again and you'll probably notice the mistake. Trust you "gut", your Italian intuition, you know you have it ;)

Ahah! You did pretty well, Gregory :) The second sentence is perfect, just check the spelling for "tavolo". For the first one I'm not sure. Did you mean "ufficio" (office)?

@@ItalianTeacherValentina Ciao Valentina! Yes, i meant office. I visited the Uffizi Galleries and thought i read the name derives from the fact it was the Medici offices. So i used that word and tried to make it male singular. Guess that's what i get for not cheating with a translation app. Ha. Well, that was the logic behind uffizi/uffico. Grazie mille for your help.
