This video will teach you how to counter lifesteal by building efficiently, and clear some misconceptions that most players have about its properties, to make it easier to deal with.
Additional info. You can calculate the maximum amount of healing the enemy will get by multiplying your hp by their lifesteal percentage. For example if you have 3000 hp and the enemy has 20% lifesteal they will heal 600hp throughout the fight if they kill you. Thats why its better to not focus on building hp and instead go for armor rather than stack hp and conversely you should build lifesteal vs an hp stacking tank, like bork. Also the most reliable counter to healing is to pile on them with your whole team and kill them before they heal much, so burst and cc are best. Also why remove video and repost?
As a tank player Warwick and yoric are a pain to build against because they are one of very few champions with ~ 40/60 damage split of magic and physical . @@lolhavoc
I follow these rules and they help like 80% of the time: squishy / single target -> build poweritem bruiser, tank / multiple healing targets -> build antiheal
antiheal items actually work well for their class types. if you are a figher, its really often better to build executioners instead of bramble even if you are against ad, bc lifesteal works 100% on creeps
Fiddlesticks heals off pre-mitigation dmg on W. So no resistances will help in that case. It used to be divine sunderer did the same based off enemy's max HP
a note: When building wardens mail, you should only build randuins omen if the enemy who has lifesteal is building crit; otherwise, frozen hearts attack speed slow gives more value. in some situations you may just want to build both though, since frozen heart can still be useful against a full crit champion. If playing a tank, or even some bruisers/duelists, you will likely want jak'sho's, as it's armor/MR increase is insane against almost any champion who abuses lifesteal
For spells with on-hit, does the lifesteal apply to both the spell damage and the on-hit damage, or does the lifesteal only applies to the on-hit damage?
meanwhile Aatrox casually slapping 1 aa on Cho and getting full heal despite grievous wound because his passive deals enemy max HP% and half of said value turns to HP:
Can you do a video on how to build tanks vs various team comps? For example, perhaps they have 2 auto attackers and 3 spell users, but 3AD and 2 ap. What if they have a vayne or bork abuser? Etc
hey havoc, do you think would be a problem if riot made Yi's E apply lifesteal? camilles true damage does like 10x more damage and applies lifesteal and it has been like that always
Did you know? When you see people build Bramble Best / Thornmail against non-auto attack champions or against Healing abilities then you know something is wrong. When you see people build Thornmail against a Zac and still heals everything and wondered why they never auto attack you, OR when you see Darius hitting other targets and only just hitting you with his Q but no autoattack OR Unending Despair and wonder why they don't have heal reduction on them.
True, thornmail is a great item overall vs basic attack champs but it's not a good antiheal item. I would love if Riot gave back the GW apply when you stun your enemy to thornmail and bramble vest. Not the 60% increased value like it used to be. Just 40% but applied by both, auto attacking you and you stunning the enemy.
It's still good against Darius because he has to AA you and his W is also an auto enhancer, it's just not good for champions that heal that don't use AA like Zac.
Aatrox plays around a mechanic that's closer to Omnivamp actually. It's not lifesteal, although most of the tips I give in this video also work against Aatrox 💀
I believe lifesteal is calculated after resustances but before Death's dance passive. So building DD shouldn't reduce the lifesteal(of course outside of 45 armor it gives).
@@IIIlIl Post-mitigation dmg means "damage after all reductions(armor, MR and unique damage reductions such as damage block from Frozen heart/Randuins Omen, Amumu E passive, Leona W)". DD's passive is not dmg reduction but a form of damage delay. Coding lifesteal to be counted before DD's passive also makes sense from dev's POV because that's the easiest way to code it. If it was counted after, you would have to figure out the way for that lifesteal to benefit from DD's bleed effect while it's not an auto attack.
@@krzysztofputerko1943in this channel's recent video it shows that DD counters Aatrox's healing due to reducing the post-mitigation cabbage, do you know if it works differently for Aatrox specifically?
Yes , grevious wounds work against Vlad's healing although bramble migh not be the best option since he can simply choose not to throw basic attacks at you. In fact it is the only way to effectively reduce his healing, its not based on damage so building magic resist to reduce his damage will not affect the healing he gets.
Antiheal works vs Vladimir but bramble vest doesn't because Vlad just won't auto attack if he sees you have it. Also, you gotta watch out for his W, because (if I'm not mistaken) it's duration is longer than GW duration so he can wait it out and then use empowered Q right after is W ends.
@@nightcorechords5705 does it really? Generally Riots main rule for on-hit effects always was that on-hit effects from items(Bork, nashors tooth etc.) benefit from lifesteal while on-hit effects from abilities(like Jax W, Irelia's passive, Jax every third auto ult passive) don't benefit from lifesteal. Gotta check it out.
@@krzysztofputerko1943 where did you even get those information in the first place? Those are really impressive. Guess i should test Kog ap sometimes if my teams need more of that damage since 100% of his scaling(even W) doesn't get even the smallest AD scale. AP Kog give me options i love such as the mana staff that give me a thick shield and as mentioned Nashoor and BORK. The %health of BORK doesn't scale anyways. In most of my Kog games even when i build normal attack speed ad items, my ap damage still surpass the ad even with BORK(it might be around 50-50 or 60-40 for ap)
@@Johann55555no, the generall rule of on-hit effects was always that on-hits from items benefit from lifesteal and on-hits from abilites(such as Irelia passive or Jax every third auto ult passive) dob't benefit from it. That's also why Shen's Q doesn't benefit from lifesteal. The reason why Yorick Q or Nasus Q or Camille's Q does benefit from it, is because game doesn't treat those abilities as on-hit effects but as empowered auto attacks(that's also why they work on towers, while the only on-hit effect that work on towers is Sheen and Titanic hydra dmg, but no longer applies cleave tho). Another interesting ability is Jax W, because it also counts as on-hit effect onstead of empowered auto attack for some reason so it doesb't proc on towers and it doesn't benefit from lifesteal.
@@krzysztofputerko1943 you're correct, I just tested it. I'll delete my comment. My assumption was that if every items on hit triggers lifesteal, then so must the on hit of champion abilities. But it's a case by case thing instead of universal, as per usual in this game. MB
