Awesome tutorial of coupling and uncoupling from the trailer. As a newer TA in training, all your videos and vlogs have become very helpful to me and I believe everyone else that watch your videos. Thank you again💯
By profession I am IT Engineer in GCC country but I love watching trucking channels on RU-vid and also subscribed them for their updates but it's more interesting watching tutorials like this and knowing some different knowledge of trucking life.
I’m a week away from starting my CDL training and I’ve been trying to prepare myself for it with reading material and similar youtube content. This was very helpful, thank you 🙏
The trailer has three connections the power lead for the lights... and two Airlines the blue is for the service brake that's your foot pedal... and the red line is to add air to the trailer to release your spring brake.
Sometimes the trailer is too low for your fifth wheel to get under... you can deflate your airbags to get under, after you slide under reinflate your airbags... this will pick your landing gear up off the ground... this will make the handle a lot easier to spin.
Also, when I drop a trailer, before pulling out from under it, I deflate the airbags so then when pulling out, there is NO drop of the trailer as you heard in this video.
@@blkcobra03you didn't hear the trailer slam because she had the landing gear all the way down. What you heard was the 5th wheel popping up when she pulled out
Hay good to see you back 😊 Your vlogs are always very interesting and helpful to understand about trucking operations. I like the way you cranked up / down the landing gears. Usually for some female drivers that's the tough job to accomplish. All the best & stay well.
Hiya it's been a while, great posting my friend, fyi adjustable tandem airbags if equipped eliminates you from jumping in and out of your truck when hooking up no matter how high or low the trailer is, good to here from you, much love from nz❤
Hi Brei I thought its been a while, maybe you and your significant other bought A hooded 96 inch sleeper Bright red Peterbuilt and were running team for Schneider. no ? still rocking 105?
Hey Bria thank you for uploading thought you were done with YT your videos have been very helpful giving me much needed insight im currently in week 2 of my training starting the offset backing thank you for all your help. if you have any tips on the offset backing please im all ears! thank you stay safe
I’m happy to hear that my videos have been helpful for you! Offset backing can be tricky, but the key is to not overturn your steering wheel because you can lose sight of the trailer in your mirrors. Always take your time. Your instructor/examiner wants to see that you can back up properly and not by how fast you can finish. I wish you the best of luck!
Cool to see you back Bria! Thought you may have moved on from your AFP. If I’m an experienced driver, do they send you out with another driver for training? If so, how many days?
Okay, I have watched your video on Coupling & Uncoupling a tractor-trailer. I am a Certified Evaluator & Instructor, and I have driven trucks for almost 50 years. The name you were looking for is a "Pin Puller" to disconnect the 5th wheel. You get the Gist of it, there are many steps you have missed, and the fact you did not drop your airbags, is a No-No when you're Hooking or Unhooking. Don't get complacent with your hooking and unhooking. As for getting under, if you feel that the trailer could fall on you, then I would refuse the trailer, or you hooked up wrong, some how. You need to get under to be sure you are hooked up. It is NOT going to fall on you. Not bad, and I have seen better demonstrations, like I said, you get the Gist of it.
Did she not also pull away too far.. the trailer was resting on the truck frame. Should it not rest on the rear part of 5 th wheel plate. Just a precaution in case landing gear is weak . And re hooking is required 🤔🤔
Brianna does Amazon tripp if you bring a ride along or is it just a no go cuz your Co. Insurance does not permit it....please let me know. I would appreciate it. Jacob
When you got with amazon, did they require experience? ive heard people say they take new cdl holders yet an AFP i contacted told me they require at least 3 months experience. Their job description didnt state any experience as a requirement either lol
Good question! It depends on what freight partner you are looking in to. I came on board with 6 months experience, but I see new drivers as well. Experience can be required or recommended depending on where you are applying.
@@briatrucking oh okay, thanks. Yea it seems like the south & the west is more welcoming to new cdl holders. Im in the north east & its required heavily. Im just not interested in doing over the road, salute to you for doing it while going to school lol
