How to create a break line as a dynamic block in AutoCAD LT 

Hi Rachel, yep, you can definitely use a polyline and just rotate/stretch/etc. manually. Or if you have full AutoCAD instead of AutoCAD LT, you can use the Express Tools for a break line. Why I prefer using a dynamic block is that embedding those actions and saving those extra milliseconds does add up over time, that using a block means you help yourself stay as consistent as possible where a drawing set can look cohesive with identical break lines, and that if you wanted to take a dynamic break line block further, you could also incorporate a wipeout as well within it where if there are an 2D blocks in elevation the break line itself will block out anything not being shown in the drawing without any extra trimming.
