Yes good video Colin, but agree with @Nicholas Warrilow , a demo of a viewer's perspective at the end would be good. In particular, you should show the URL structure so people can understand the silo structure a bit more. Silos are very powerful with the SEO work we do, so the more info you have the more it will help the Thrive fanbase ! Keep up the good work

Thank you, very informative. The only thing it left we wanting was just a visual demonstration at the end with what a category page was. Since I do not have a sidebar on my website I am left wondering how a user actually picks a particular category.

If I redirect a category to a silo page, will that no longer show up on my actual blog? I am wanting to do a separate blog page for some things, but certain categories need to go to silo pages and I am unclear on this. Thank you.

Are you saying that the silo page should be your home page or the silo should simply be directed toward the home page, which would be a normal page? I'm restructuring my travel blog to look less bloggy and more categorised around destinations and activities, so I'm replacing the blog page with a silo (I'm keeping the blog page as a 'latest articles' option too). What would be my home page in this case?

Awsome!! If I make the silo page my new category page, what happens to my category page and if I want to add more post to the category, does it go away? Will I not be able to use it like before and add post to that category?

Hey, how about putting a button 'Edit with thrive builder' near a category that directly edits/if not available->creates the archive template of that particular category?

Very informative Colin and just what I needed. It gets exciting where you start with editing the post list. I chose the silo page 05 for my weblog but the problem is that there is no post list so I cannot find the filter posts option. Can you give me some advice?

Hi, Your silo page structure is great. However, I do have a question regarding the set up. Hopefully you can help me out. In a Silo structure I always have one main authority post. The main authority post has only one link going out to a sub post. All my sub post contain at least one link back up to my main authority post, and my sub post all link to each other. If I use Thrives themes Silo landing page, do I optimize this page as it is my main authority post? If so, the silo landing page article is going to be approx. 2500 words. Based on the lay-out of the Silo Landing page this does not seem quit right, does it? Or is the Silo Landing page just for overview and a make a blog post my main authority article? Hope to hear from you! Thanks in advance. Regards, Maurice

To properly optimise a silo page the content post should be around 5000 words. It should contain keywords and link out to category posts. Every post where possible should link back to the main silo page through a content reference link on a keyword or phrase. They should also link to other posts. Both the silo page and the posts should only link to posts of the category the silo page covers. This is what builds the authority of the site as the silo pages should link back to the homepage based on the same principal. The accumulated authority of each silo page is seen as a mini site by Google and all the silo pages linking back to the main page give the overall site a very high DA. Unfortunately while looking very nice the templates do not actually contribute to the purpose of a main silo page unless you can fit all the content around the list items. It must be noted that multiple list item blocks may prove overkill as the silo page can only link to that particular category posts, linking to other non specific category posts undermines the structure and point of a silo site. There are plenty of references to silo sites on the web and here on YT. Try looking up Authority Hackers channel and blog

That is exactly what I want to do; however, although I followed all of the steps in your tutorial and I documented each so I could go back and check my work against your tutorial it just did nothing. I still have a blank page with a theme I do not want and a lovely template for the page which is not having anything to do with the page. I cannot assign this template in either WP or Architect as it just does not show, even though it is there.

Can’t you just do this by using thrive theme archive templates? It seems like there’s the same level of customization as there is on standalone pages.
@Thrivethemes
@Thrivethemes 3 года назад
Hi there, almost :) The big difference is in the post list. A category page will show all the articles in that particular category while a silo page gives you full control over the different articles you show and the order you show them in. - Hanne

@@Thrivethemes but can’t you just add a blog post list from the thrive theme template builder and use the filter feature to filter for certain content?
@Thrivethemes
@Thrivethemes 3 года назад
@@patchybeardopinions9340 On the silo pages, yes. On the category templates, no (there the list will automatically show all of your posts in that category because it's a dynamic element) - Hanne

With thrivethemes I've been around for years, I have to say you've made incredible progress in the editor, the page layouts are basically unbeatable and that's what we want, not wasting time with graphics and other things just "throw and go." Unfortunately, this software is not "all in one" and you need additional software to make the sales process work for you, which is quite annoying. It would be great to have everything in one "package" and just let it go before dealing with other software, integrations, etc.
@scottwiseman2966

that is too bad. Salient theme used on Saphelife was only $59 bucks one time . and super easy to use

You guys will keep tweaking Thrive Theme Builder to the point of making it boring already. Instead of deploying the long-awaited Woo-commerce integration, CartFlows, and ThriveCart integrations, you guys keep boring me with useless updates that mean little or nothing. It's time you start putting into action your 'Rapid Implementation' advice. It's sad that so a powerful company as Thrive Themes is belittling eCommerce and focusing on a long saturated blogging niche. I love Thrive Themes and the folks who work there, but my God you guys are so behind. How in this world did you allow CartFlows and ThriveCart to dominate you like this? You guys remind me so much of Tower Records, Barnes & Noble, B. Dalton Booksellers all in NYC, including Blockbuster who paid little attention to the changing times when Amazon and Netflix started. Every week I refresh Thrive Themes page on RU-vid to see if a new video on any eCommerce integration has dropped. Every day, I'm disappointed it nudges me to start looking at the alternatives. Thrive Themes as a company is incredibly slow at being ahead of the curve. Very good company, good blogging software, but chronically late to the game. Give people what they want, not what you think is good for them. There's a reason why Amazon, Shopify, AliExpress, Alibaba, ClickFunnels, and CartFlows are doing incredibly so well. Any surprise they have strong eCommerce components? Keep tweaking until it's too late!

What a useless rant. There is nothing stopping you from using cartflows , thrive cart etc with this product as is if the pace of development doesn’t match your “ urgent need”. Other people have figured this out and so can you. You can “ get ahead of the curve” if that is your issue instead of whining. Otherwise when they release an integration it will simply work flawlessly ... I think that’s the goal. To do it right not to be “ahead of some imaginary curve”.

@@sparkyharmon9549 Hi, while your angle is valid, I feel the dude meant no harm, trust me! He must have spoken from a point of wanting to see Thrive themes compete at a level where they don't measure up to yet, for the reasons you have just mentioned. There is already an ETA for the release of Woocommerce integration max July ending. So we can all move ahead from there. All love from here. cheers

Agree with Sparky, totally stupid and pointless rant. What other page builders have direct integrations with Thrivecart and Cartflows then? I use Thrive Themes with Thrivecart just fine! While a direct integration with Thrive Apprentice would be nice with Thrivecart, it's not the most important thing. Thrives content is some of the best out there, stop moaning!
