In this video, I’m going to show you how to create a realistic T-shirt mockup in Photopea, that makes it super quick and easy to be able to change the design and colour in the future.

Software I also recommend:
Topaz Gigapixel - amazing software for upscaling to much higher resolutions without sacrificing quality. It's a perfect partner to Photopea in my opinion. Check it out here:

Hi! thank you so much for this great tutorial. Its helped me so much. Could you be awesome and hint on what I`d have to do to turn the fabric from melange (which it currently is) to plain fabric (no 2-tone effect in the thread)?

Thanks a lot for your tips about fonts with swashes. They helped me a lot. I installed them. Yet, another question: Is it possible to inscrease the size of the swashes (without increasing the size of fonts), to prolong them or they're fixed? I've seen some designs where swashes are so long, reaching right and left edges of the posters.
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 3 года назад
To make things easier doing this, i'd recommend having it split out as 3 layers - one for the main text, and the other two for each swish. Then you can position, resize/reshape the swishes independently from the main text quickly an easily.

Just a suggestion do you think you could do a tutorial on how to add see through glass to a photo or keep the window of a car on something when you change background. You don’t have two but it’s just something I’ve been wondering how to do.

Thanks for this video! Though, my question is not related to this video: Is it possible to use fonts with swashes in Photopea? If so, which one(s) and how? Thanks in advance :)
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 3 года назад
Hi :) Absolutely you can! Start by googling 'free swash fonts' and have a look at what you like, and download a couple to try out. Like from here: www.1001fonts.com/swash-tail-fonts.html save the folder of fonts on your computer somewhere. Then, in Photopea go to the 'Character' window, and click on the font name in the top left to expand the current font list. Click the 'Load' button and find where you saved the font on your computer to load. Most swash fonts i've used in the past act like regular fonts when typing, but you normally access the 'swashes/tails' by using the square bracket keys. Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for this tutorial..,, but I have a question how can I do my designs with CMYK I see only RGB on photopea is a way to change that???
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 2 года назад
You're welcome! I'm afraid you can't, as Photopea currently only supports RGB workspace. Maybe that is something they will change in the future though.
@EJ3.16
@EJ3.16 2 года назад
Okay thank you do you know if there is a way to print after design from photopea in vivid colors with CMYK??
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 2 года назад
@@EJ3.16 Well, how vivd the colours are would depend on the particular CMYK profile... but the gamut is far smaller than RGB, so any colours that are particularly vivid will likely look a bit faded once Converted. You would have to use another piece of software to convert... can I ask why exactly you want them in CMYK to begin with? If you are getting some professionally printed, the place where you are sending them should handle the RGB to CMYK process as part of the job. Also, CMYK isn't just one thing... depending on what country you are in, and the specifications of particular printing companies, there will be specific profiles of CMYK to use... it's not a 'one size fits all' colour space. In my day job, i'm a retoucher for a Cosmetics company, and we have a huge amount professionally printed all the time... and we still have an RGB workflow - our printing company takes care of the conversions etc. So that's a long winded way of saying, personally I wouldn't worry about CMYK, unless you are specifically told that you MUST provide files in that format. Hope this helps!

@@photopeapro thank you once again to take your valuable time and help, well I use photopea to do designs and then I do sublimation my printer it’s a epson f170 but since photopea only works with RGB and my printer uses CMYK colors are not coming same as I choose on my designs.......

why whenever I try to apply effects to a selection, it affects everything ? for example i make a selection of his arm and then try to apply vibrance to it , it affects everything like his face, the ground, atc. great work keep it up and sorry for any grammar mistake
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 3 года назад
Well, things to check - if you make the selection first and then create an adjustment layer, it should automatically apply the live selection to the new adjustment layer's layer mask. If you have created the adjustment layer first however and then your selection, you will need to click on the layer mask and fill with white (with the selection still live). This will add the shape of the selection to the adjustment layer mask. If it is still not working, then i'm not sure what it could be without more info.... possibly a glitch? (not too uncommon for Photopea!) Glad you enjoyed the video :)

@@photopeapro Thanks so much for your reply. I was making the selection and creating a new layer with the new selection and just then i tried applying the effects. When I did what you said at the beginning of your comment, make the selection and then apply the effects, it worked.Thanks so much.

@photopea I was wondering if there is an updated version of this tutorial? this one seems very complex just to make a mockup,I thought smart object was an easy way to create a design.Any help appreciated.
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 10 месяцев назад
I do have plans on some more mock up videos, on different objects like boxes, drink cans / bottles etc. Hopefully you will see some different techniques in them! Using smart objects makes it quick and easy to change the design on mockups once they are all set up, but the process of getting the initial mock up 'template' looking right can be quite a bit of work. But having said that, I could definitely re-visit this and simplify it a bit for sure!

Hello Gareth.. no one seems to talk about the dpi or ppi of a logo.. Is it possible to alter dpi/ppi in the free photopea or do you need a paid version? I would like to do my own T shirt designs but i'm only getting the option of 72/96 dpi and can't change it to 150/300.. Can you suggest anything please?
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 2 года назад
Hi there Jane, thanks for the question. When you create a new document, in the top left side of the screen it features the DPI number - you can just manually type 300 in this box. Alternatively, if you already have a document created, go to the Image menu, them Image Size. You can manually type what ever resolution you need there also. As far as I am aware, there are no functional differences between the free and paid version of Photopea - paying simply removed the ads at the side of the screen. And it goes without saying that apart form the actual DPI of the document, it needs to be a suitable dimension to cover off the design itself, so that it won't have to be scaled up at any point after you have worked on it. Hope this makes sense, and works for you :)
@jane.c.c
@jane.c.c 2 года назад
@@photopeapro thank you for your reply Gareth.. I tried both of your suggestions but unfortunately, the dpi still remains at 96. I must be doing something wrong but I have no clue what it could be.. If you can come up with any more solutions that'd be great.. but I'm not expecting miracles.. lol.. as really I tried both of these. I had my pixel sizes at 2400 x 3000..
@photopeapro
@photopeapro 2 года назад
@@jane.c.c Hi Jane. Hmm that's very odd. I can't think of a reason why it won't let you change the resolution. Maybe this is a good one for you to add to the official Photopea support forum: github.com/photopea/photopea If I think of anything else in the mean time, of course i'll let you know.

@@photopeapro just to let you know.. i clicked a template in photopea and it automatically gave me the 300 dpi.. however.. when i looked up the properties in my windows laptop.. it was still 96.. so obviously the problem lies with my laptop..
