Some lovely combinations there. Your ivory silks are beautiful. I choose navy over black because I am a soft/ warm colouring. I loved the red top and also the coral which are colours that suit me well. I also found a caramel colour that goes well with navy.
Hello Maria, I wanted to comment in response to your latest newsletter. I think that the new branding is just right and that the new photographs which we've seen so far truly reflect your personality. Your style journey towards being authentically 'you' has been inspiring and I can appreciate how much soul-searching and hard work went into coming into your own. Thank you for sharing all of your very useful advice, support and guidance.
I love wearing silk and do shop at lot at Lily Silk, they have many great classics. Unfortunately, they have been adding synthetic fibers to their silk knits, which makes them unwearable for me. I love wearing navy, too, it’s “my black”. Thanks for another great video, Maria ❤
Hi Kimberly, we sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by your recent shopping experience. We truly value your support and love all these years and want to clear up any unsatisfactory feelings you might have toward us. Please allow us to take the time to explain to you why synthetic fiber is added to our silk knits. We use grade 6A silk - the best silk fiber we could find in the world - to create all our pieces. In order for our knits to stay in shape and maintain a better fit, a small percentage of synthetic is added. We hope by providing this information, it sheds some light on the reasoning behind our choice. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have further concerns or questions.
Loved everything here, especially the Navy silk trousers - elegant and timeless. Lilysilk is excellent value as their the silk is premium quality and hangs well with minimal creasing. You look amazing by the way.
I think LS’s prices are fair, too, and they have fast delivery here, California, under a week. They also offer free custom sizing! At least in their woven silk items, not their knits, but knits stretch, of course. I allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of their custom garments. I wish they would put back elastic in all their bottoms, I need a few extra inches there nowadays, since menopause started.
I have the striped shirt, too, and one of their dresses in that fabric, too. This last year, it’s been really difficult to find true navy, brands have been pushing that awful Dark Navy again. No matter how one wears that hue, it never looks right, it just looks “off”. I think the brands are trying to reduce the color options they offer, Dark Navy to replace black and navy, but it just doesn’t work. The did this in the 90s, and I remember what a flop my dark navy blazer was, it didn’t work with anything is my wardrobe. This time around I didn’t buy anything in that color, I’m waiting for true navy to return and happily, at Lily Silk, it has. My guideline is it must look dark blue at a glance, not black. If I have to take it to a window to check the color or compare it to something black, it’s a No.
Completely agree. I've just sent back an expensive navy pashmina that was so dark I had to take it out into the sunlight to see if it was black or navy. It was navy, but only just. Dark navy is as draining as black.
It’s really lovely quality not thin like some of the cheaper options on the High Street and something that will last. I think I will get really good cost per wear from it 👍
Very nice capsule Maria. I would like to try the silk trousers. I seem to be between their sizes how did you find the size compared to your Max Mara trousers? Did you order the same size? Thank you.
Hi Roberta I would say if you are between sizes to size up. I got the 14 and they are snug on the waist which for me is fine as I’m still losing weight. They fit really nicely on the bottom and over the tummy I just found the waist a bit tight. They are really beautiful trousers, a lovely weight. I hope that helps 😀
