I don’t know what made the algorithm recommend this video to me but I’m glad it did. This concept of assigning “personality” is incredibly interesting. I think it’s genius. It earned a like & subscribe 😂
Oh my gosh this helped so much. I feel like you touched on & unfolded each area of design that I need to pay attention to and spend time with. You are so well spoken & conveyed this so beautifully! I will totally be watching this again as I move about my house & feel out what needs tweaking. Ahhh! Love it all! You’re amazing.
Algorithm for the win! I’ve watched a lot of design creators over the years, and your concept of furniture personalities and how they create harmonious cohesion is next level. You are so articulate, approachable, and such a lovely professional educator. I also love your use of eclectic and moody vibes in some of your examples! Becca you are a breath of fresh air and I’m so excited to subscribe. Thank you for your authenticity and all your hard work creating this video.
We have a real leather love seat that I just cannot toss or replace. It’s burgundy. I could either go…”UGH!” Or I could say…Oooo…Ralph Lauren! I choose the latter! Love what you have….make it work.
I just recently found your channel and wanted to say: so far I enjoyed every video of yours! You have such a elegant and nice way of speaking about design and your tips are so helpful, even on a small budget. So thank you ☺✨
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad to hear that you found the content helpful and understandable. It means a lot to me that you appreciate the analogies and examples. Your support and feedback are truly encouraging!
Wow! I feel the same as all the other comments. I’ve watched soooo many decorating videos, this one is outstanding. I’m highly impressed with your knowledge, talent, and your ability to communicate and educate in an artful way. Well done, I just subscribed.
I’m just starting to follow you. In this video I would like it if you showed examples of what you’re describing and when you do show pics of it, they’re not just flashed on screen. You show pic and speak about each element more. So far I like content
Thank you so much. This was very helpful. My main challenge is pairing furniture and I liked your technique of assigning personality. Very helpful and let's see if I can leverage on that.
Thank you, this is a very helpful video. I'm an artist and I completley understand the idea of composition and keeping the eye moving by repeating lines, contrasts, energy etc.... throughout a painting. I just can't seem to do it in a 3D space. 😢 This has been helpful to me to understand where Ive been going wrong.
Shall we take a moment and appreciate the eloquence of language used, without fillers?????? ( Especially the word "like", which Americans use maybe even 7-10 times in between the words in one single sentence!!!)❤
Furniture Personality? Snooty, aloof, shy, high maintenance, rude, insincere, show-off, thoughtful, funky. So I choose what would get along at a party?
How are you so young AND SO SMART!!!! First time watching your channel and already learned so much. You were speaking to us...not at us. It was like a lovely conversation with "ah hah" moments of clarity. I had to stop mid video and go move a lamp (which I love) to a different room where it made much more sense being with its other personality pieces. I realized I couldn't see past how much I adored this lamp with the fact that was out of place. Thank you. Its been months of "what the heck is wrong here"?
Wow, thank you so much!! What a compliment. I love knowing that people aren't just watching but actually implementing these tips! I'm so glad you found it helpful
I appreciate your ability to be both articulate and accessible to the average person just wanting to elevate their own space. Well done! And you are the only one who can tell that you were burned out lol. Brava!
I so glad I found your channel. You created an incredibly helpful, informative and original design concepts all in one video. I love interior design, but have struggled with putting a room together. I now see why. Thank you. I’m 50 and as of today, I finally understand it. Great Job
Oooh, I have that bistro table. It sits between two wing back chairs. I actually do have it paired with a rustic coffee table. I like the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine. Stone walls with crystal chandeliers, marble surfaces and rustic wood. I like the tension.
While editing the video I caved and bought myself one because I just love it! Pairing it with wing back chairs probably looks so good! And hey, some times it just works 🤷🏻♀️ contrast can look so great when it’s intentional and thoughtful.
Yes, I agree, I love how she explains design based on the personalities, and I think it's a great starting point if you are just stuck on how to decorate a space. But, the most amazing spaces for me are the one with the juxtaposition as you said. It's like a great dinner party, mixing and matching personalities makes everything more interesting.
WOW! My first time seeing any of your videos. This is so helpful. So easy to understand...love the assigning a personality to an object! Thank you so much.
Thank you for persevering in your attempts. It’s my first video listen and appreciate all of the thoughtful content you incorporated into it. Subscribed!
My mom is like this! Something that helps her keep her things organized but visible is just corralling items onto trays, in dishes or in cups/containers. These items can be aesthetically pleasing (you don't have to use ugly plastic ones) and serve the function of consolidating items that you need to have visible but would otherwise be all over the place. Do what works best for the way your brain works!
I rarely comment, but this video was soo great and is going to help me with my new home a lot! I also adore your dress soo much, where did you get it from?
Outstanding. I subscribed because I found you nuanced, easily understood, intuitive and charming. Pretty sure I discovered the ground floor of something big.
Love your channel, and I love the way you describe personalities of pieces, I never thought of it that way especially because I love mixing different styles.
This made so much sense. The best design video I've ever watched and so needed right now. Loved the comment "Natural materials wear in over time instead of wear out over time.". Thanks for sharing!
i personally don't like talking videos because it makes me bored easily BUT THIS VID TOTALLY MADE SENSE i watched it til the end. i love assigning personality to objects
Great ideas and love the aspect of assigning a personality to each piece because we do get too wrapped up in the design "style" or trying to fit it into that style.
That was REALLY good. Especially appreciate the idea of assigning personality to pieces rather than pigeonholed categories like "farmhouse." Your explanation with examples about balance and rhythm was also excellent. Thanks! You're a good teacher. (I love the decor behind you too!)
New subscriber!! Clear and concise design tips and explanations!! I like your style of showing the do’s and don’ts when designing a space. Keep up the good job!! 👏👏👍👍
first time in a while I watch a video that isnt stating the obvious and has some really good insights. 100% agree with everything. Natural materials are so satisfying from their look but also the tactile experience they provide. + you keep them almost for forever
