Great video! The only thing I would say to newbies is switching everything in your house to “green” products by way of throwing out everything not green even though it still has use/product left in it, isn’t green. Use up what you have, even if it’s not vegan or if it comes in a plastic bottle, and only replace it once that item has been used to it’s max.
Thanks for sharing your tips, loved every single one, I already do some of them, such as the plastic free bathroom products, and the bulk store. I really find almost everything “zero waste” kind of romantic, like it is way more fun and cute and like a thousand times more interesting than the “normal” products.
Really loved this video! Would love more videos about at-home composting, if you have experience! I checked out the link to the composter you sell and I've been so curious about vermicomposting.
How can I have a compost without having a garden? How does it work? I really want a compost. In Germany, we have organic bins for food waste rubbish that is used to make soil or fertiliser. I think they should do the same in the UK but they don’t.
I have a question, I’m rather new to this and don’t know a whole lot, is it financially a win to do this? Me and my husband has talked about it with different things like making our own detergents and shampoo, conditioner, and stuff I know at first, it might be money like buying the things when you first move into a home But after buying the equipment, or ingredients, is it cheaper?
If you think you’ll keep up with it, yes, but for most people, it’s not realistic to make all of your own products. Also, a LOT of homemade detergents will void any warranties that might be available. Buying stuff pre-made via a zero-waste shop saves the effort for your busy life, is typically more concentrated so you go through less, and is less likely to void your warranties. If you don’t have a zero waste shop near you, many will ship using eco-friendly packaging & then you can find a reputable company that does carbon offsetting to help cover the emissions cost of the shipping.
