Yes, you would just release music through your distributor to RU-vid music and once they release your song through there, then you would go and claim it.

DistroKid. You have to get 1,000 subscribers as well to get the check mark.

Hey! I just posted a video today to try and create the official artist channel. Distrokid keeps telling me that my artist name and RU-vid name don’t match…I double checked and everything is correct. Any advice? Do I wait a little longer for the video and account to get settled ? Thanks !

Thank you for doing this video!!! VERY helpful!! I took notes. LOL I wanted to let you know (not a big deal but thought you would want to fix it) that under Settings...Upload defaults...Description... you wrote "when I was began my music". I thought you'd want to know so you can go take out "was". Again, great video!!! I'm subscribing to your channel for more videos on all this as we're just starting to suddenly take off and need to get everything up and running! We've been singing around North Florida our whole lives but we only did it as a hobby a few times a year at the same events annually. All of a sudden, we're being contacted by all kinds of people and venues, some paying gigs and some that are free but we're getting amazing exposure (like an audience of thousands). Now, we're frantically trying to set up pages on all the social media platforms and youtube channel, etc! Ahhhh! We want to do it right and look professional but it is a lot to learn and to do so quickly! (For instance, in the last 8 days, we got booked for 6 gigs. EEK!) So, we really appreciate your channel because we'd be lost without it. FOR SURE! lol Thanks!!

I recommend naming it your artist name so it’s easier for fans/listeners to find you from Google or even on the RU-vid platform.

@@JaceyFlames no like when you go to the RU-vid music app, and listen to a song that has a music video, you can toggle on the video button (above the artwork) if you want to watch the video of that song instead.

Is this the first song you have released on there? Also, unfortunately for some artists you may have to do more to get the check mark on youtube.

@@kathyoby That may be why. You also need to get your music on Google search console, have your social media profiles matched to your artist name, have some publications, etc. RU-vid may not give you the checkmark if they can’t identify who you are yet as an artist through search engines.

Hey man great video I was wondering if you know the answer to this? When you become an official music channel can you still disable like counts on videos? I cant find the answer to this anywhere i just need somebody with an artist channel to try it in settings 😂 Its not a big deal im just ocd about stuff like this and need to find out before I change my channel over 😂

On my videos just now i have the like counter hidden, I just find it a kinda pointless metric, just wondering does the option still exist to hide the likes counter once you become an official artist channel?, im guessing it probably does just wanted to find out for sure just need someone with an artist channel to test it out, thanks man 🙌🙌

Then when i unpload my music it is going to the topic Channel and when i unpload the vidéo lyrics in my really channel it make the copirihgt of the topic Channel then wen i will claim the artist channel RU-vid will take care of the copiright ?

The topic channel is the default channel from the distributor that they create when you release your music. Don’t worry about that one. Just upload to your regular channel when you release your music.

Unfortunately, most distributors don’t allow you to connect it yet. Only on RU-vid Music, which is a different app. The topic channel is always a default channel that distributors upload your music.

I have a question. I have already connected my RU-vid account to my artist profile and also have the tick (musical note) next to my name. My problem now is that I don't have the function on the left side of RU-vid Studio to go to my profile and change my profile picture. This really disappoints me because I listen to music on RU-vid Music myself. Need help

Is it on RU-vid music that you can’t change your profile or RU-vid itself? Because although those two are under the same umbrella, RU-vid music is technically a different platform and URL.

@@JaceyFlames So I listen to my music on a different account than I make it. In other words, on my private account. However, I already know that I have to edit my profile picture on RU-vid Studio. My only problem is that the function is not displayed there. It should actually be under "Profiles" on the left, where you can edit it. But that's not the case for me. Otherwise everything is there (Artist Mark, my Songs)

@@JaceyFlames Yes I can log in to my google account and it has changed on RU-vid but not in RU-vid Music. On YT I can change it the whole time but RU-vid Music is my problem. 😔
