Excellent tutorial! Everything is covered from equipment and set up to posing the subject to working with the client to make the final image selection. Great tip about using gels to slightly warm up the white backdrop. Thanks, Yaneck, 👍

What do people like more the Triangle look or the eyelighter look?

How can I use the Eyelighter for 3/4 length portraits? Would placing the Eyelighter just above the sitters knee height work or would that be too far from their face? Thanks!

Great video Yaneck Wasiek. I had a volume headshot booking that needed me to do 175 sales professionals in 8 hrs. (by myself). So I put together a similar setup, but with the Glow Arc Softbox instead of the reflector. (much easier to setup for me.). After posting my setup and a sample SOC photo in the GODOX FB group, I got so much criticism on how flay my lighting was and that I was making it too complex with little to show for it. Would you mind looking at my SOC photo and setup and share your thoughts?
@YaneckWasiek
@YaneckWasiek 2 года назад
Thanks Jon! Where can I see your SOC photo?

Its basically the Peter Hurley style and he charges several $1000s for a headshot so there is that.

@@WestcottLighting I have watched this and I still struggle. I am thinking it is my roof/ceiling height that is my issue. It is only 7 and and a half feet high. So I can only raise my light so high with my 36 Manny Ortiz umbrella. Thanks

A lot of photographers are working like that... You just Photoshop them away
@bryang4856
@bryang4856 3 года назад
On a plain/solid background it doesn't matter. Not the case in an environmental shot, obviously.
@derekmack
@derekmack 3 года назад
The lights are literally cutting into her hairline, that’s not a solid background and better framing would mean it’s not an issue
@YaneckWasiek
@YaneckWasiek 3 года назад
Of course in an environmental set up I would keep the light a bit further away. I photograph every year over 6k people and do it this way:)
@jerryphoto1
@jerryphoto1 3 года назад
Not understanding why your lights are so close that there cutting into the top of your clients head, why would you want to fix something like that in post when it would be something you could have easily done by repositioning the lights or just having her step back one step
@YaneckWasiek
@YaneckWasiek 3 года назад
Thanks for your question. The main reason I put my lights so close is to make them as soft as possible and have the light fall off toward the side od the face. Of course this is my approach so if you would like to keep them further away you can absolutely do it
@YaneckWasiek
@YaneckWasiek 3 года назад
Check my other comments, I explained why I do it this way:) cheers

I was wondering the same thing!! Why are the lights in the frame and how is he going to fix it?
@bryang4856
@bryang4856 3 года назад
As long as the lights/strip boxes aren't cutting into the subject's head, it's easy to edit them out. I do it all the time, even with a gradient background.
@YaneckWasiek
@YaneckWasiek 3 года назад
Oh yes there is a way do it and I'm doing it every single day. With content aware fill in Photoshot it's literally a 30 sec process
