👍Boos Block products are good, but I stopped buying special products to condition & clean my boards and went back to my mom’s tried snd true formulas - she loved to entertain & made beautiful boards when I was a kid. To clean my boards I use two ingredients: lemon and sea salt. I let it dry a few hours or overnight and then I liberally apply the coconut oil. 💡Every so often I also spray the surface of the boards with a plain bleach & water mixture that I keep in my kitchen for use as a general disinfectant. I rinse & wipe it off and let it air dry. To condition my boards I use food grade coconut oil because it is highly resistant to rancidity & is antibacterial. I liberally apply the coconut oil, let it soak in for a few hours or overnight then wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel and put it away ready for use next time, I do this process after every use. Wishing everyone happy boarding days. 💞

👍💡Sometimes I lay an interesting glass on it’s side and have items (grapes, fruits, nuts, or bread sticks spilling out of it for added interest) and it doesn’t roll around because the other items keep it in place. 💞
@lovingatlanta

💡Another tip I use is to put out small amounts of dip at a time (and I assign helpers in charge of one item each to help me keep an eye on food items) so I/we can replenish with fresh items. It works out great.😃👍💞

👍Beautiful. I even prepare different boards when go to other people’s houses for get togethers, cocktail parties, house warmings, showers etc and leave the board as a gift. It’s always a hit & a good conversation starter too. 💞

Thank you. I particularly appreciate your detailed explanation amd reasons for doing certain things, e.g double dipping! Your approach using more separate dishes and boards is very practical and more appetizing. Others have foods too much on top of each other and they (crackers, nuts) get soggy or foods end up absorbing other flavours before the end of the evening. The bread and oil dips were the "icing on the cake" ☺

I have found that a thin rubber anti skid mat works better for placing your board on. It's dry and keeps the board in place.

💡I highly recommend putting out individual grapes on your boards by taking the grapes from the bunch so people don’t touch the whole bunch just to remove a couple of grapes. 💞

or just cutting the clusters smaller so they grab 4-5 grapes at a time.... Easy solution to one of my pet peeves! lol The smaller cut celery and veggies were a simple tip but I never thought of it to prevent double dipping!
@lovingatlanta
@lovingatlanta 4 года назад
VanityTee 01 - 👍Exactly. Oh yes...do anything necessary to prevent double dipping!!! I have been known to throw out a whole container of dip (in a very nonchalant inconspicuous way) 😖after I saw someone double dipping. I put out small amounts of dip at a time (and I assign helpers in charge of one item each to help me keep an eye on food items) so I/we can replenish with fresh items as needed. It works out great.😃👍

This looks delicious and so beautifully prepared. I really enjoyed your explanation about which foods complement each other, ie cheddar next to chorizo and honey with blue cheese. I'm hungry now!

Each one is between $10 and $20, depending on uniqueness.
@AlbertaRose94
@AlbertaRose94 2 года назад
It depends on where you live. I can get a variety of cheese from Safeway, Sobey’s, Superstore or Co-op. 😅😂🤣 I’m laughing because Charcuterie boards have been around for decades in Calgary, Alberta, Canada yet Easterners look down their noses at Calgary as being a bunch of hicks.
