When our operators go through that fatal funnel (doorway) and find themselves confronted with targets, they don’t have time to be thinking about lining up sights and trigger-control. They need to be focused on “Is it a Threat?” All the marksmanship skills and manipulations need to be pushed into the subconscious mind. How do we do that? It’s just like driving; it takes lots and lots of practice.

By no means am I an authority, but this has got to be the highest quality and unbelievably least known channel I've ever stumbled upon. Amazing work, thank you.

I’ve spent a year watching RU-vid on topics of firearm safety and training. In my humble opinion, this particular video is The most important video on training ever created. This is done by a pure professional. I’m also a pro in my respective field of work. I do appreciate the top quality of the video. Karl is very articulate on the presentation of the topic. Because this video, today I’ve become a patreon of this channel. Keep up the great work.

Best explanation of training ever. This is why you need to do regular range practice. This is why you need to do regular dry-fire practice. You gotta get this stuff nailed down. Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong.

Really enjoying your channel, just found it the other day while I was looking for training materials for a local small time club I'm helping start up. Your videos are top-notch, and I want to thank you for taking the time to make them and share your experience. This video is probably my favorite of yours so far, thanks again and thank you for your service. Semper Fi.

Hi, I am a business coach and I love this 5 min video, your mind is a muscle, and once you repeat it often stay there. I explain to my clients that personal development is a language, the more you practice the better your memory will be on using it when you most need it. Is in direct line with what you said so I share your video with two groups I have. It's definitely one of the best channels I found.

This is what I refer to as Comprehension - Apprehension - Conditioned Response. Comprehension is when the student fundamentally understands the technique or method. Most never move past this stage. Apprehension is when the student can't perform that perfect practice yet has not reached a level of proficiency that they can free their intellect up to perform other tasks like problem solving. I see this a lot when we employ stress. Then of course conditioned response where the student can perform the task on a subconscious level freeing their mind up for decision making.

i've found that air pistols such as the Tanfoglio Witness 1911 A1 CO2 BB Gun Replica is a quiet inexpensive way to further build muscle memory & accuracy as well. There are many such replicas out there to suit gun owner's needs who own the real McCoy. 32118

Would you suggest using airsoft rifles for practice (M4 replicants of course) or would the weight distribution and variation be too much to be pointless?
@TacticalRifleman

If you spend the money to get replicas with the same weight, all dry fire practice is beneficial. Thanks for watching, TR

There is a draw back to Dry Fire. Unfortunately. There is a dash cam video of a Police Officer in a gun battle showing him racking the slide between shots and dumping a round on the ground after every shot. His dry fire muscle memory included racking the slide and was also burned into his mind. He had no idea he was doing it. But of course non of the Hero/Sidewalk Commandos that watch videos would ever do that. Something to think about!
@TacticalRifleman
@TacticalRifleman 6 лет назад
Indy, point taken, but please do not discount the value of Dry Firing. Also, if you are worried about developing a "click/rack" bad habit, please see our "Glock Dry Fire Conversion Kit" video. By using a dedicated dry-fire weapon, you do not have to rack after each shot. TR

Awesome video and great content. I'm fairly new to firearms but I own a Mossberg 590A1 for home-defense that I take to the range quite frequently to shoot trap for fun. I am purchasing my first handgun soon ( H&K VP9 LE ) and would like to know what drills I should practice to develop good skills with a handgun. I'm planning to conceal and carry. I've watched the how to hold and how to shoot a pistol videos that you guys have produced, any others that I should pay special attention to before I go to the range for the first time with my handgun? Thanks!

My friend gave me a tip on how to copy skills: 1) Observe their body position, 2) Observe their body movement 3) Observe their actions 4) Really feel the way their doing it and get into it 5) Practise at least for 2 days and you'll be able to get it.
