Taking your time building your collection also allows you to decide on the genera and species that you love. If you love your plants, taking care of them is less of a chore! ❤
this is real talk that I think a lot of planty people (including me) needs to hear. So thank you, Becca! I'm throwing in another: embrace plants that do well in your space. not that long ago i went through a phase where i wanted to try out all the plants that visually caught my eye, but turned out my space (and maybe even my care) is not the best environment for them. but through that time i learned that certain plants like calathea, ferns and jungle cacti are much more suited for me as a plant caretaker. so buying plants doesn't feel as much as taking a risk these days bc i already have ones from the same groups that can do well long term. rip alocasia lol. Still, I'm thankful for the mistakes that were made along the way
My favourite thing to do with high humidity plants is keep them in a bathroom! Bathrooms have way higher humidity than other rooms in your home. I’ve kept my anthurium clarinervium in my bathroom and it’s thriving!

All good advice! (except the pebble tray lol, I just don't think they make a difference) I agree about getting rid of plants too, sometimes you just have to let some go if they're not adding anything to your life.

Oh thanks again Becca for another great video, I have been trying to find the perfect places for all of my plants and totally understand that all of our areas in our homes have different conditions and some plants do fine in certain areas and some don't so I have been moving my plants around, and I really do agree on a good and proper soil, and a regular soil mix is not the best you need to add some extra stuff, the pumise is a great choice and I also add the chunky mix this just helps the soil to not get compacted and let the soild be airy and help the roots to not rot. I also have to be honest with you, that if I am struggling with a plant that is not getting better and I have kept trying to bring it back and it isn't coming back I will just throw it away, and if I can get another one in the future I might do that, because I have learned what I was doing wrong and I do have that 3 time buy rule, after I have bought a plant 3 times and if it is still not doing great I will never buy it again.
