Double crochet stitches become the easiest thing in the world once you get used to them it only becomes annoying when you have to start making something like a blanket
I just learned how to crochet, and I'm wondering what would be a good starter project, since I don't know if i have the commitment to jump straight into something too big or complicated.
I recently learned as well. A square dishcloth (all single crochet) was my first completed project. A scarf is also pretty quick and easy, especially with a bulkier yarn (with single crochet or half double crochet). Happy crocheting! 🧶
I would recommend trying socks or some square patches so that you can use those squares and either sew or crochet them together into a blanket or scarf or anything you want , that's what I find to be easier to do if you want to tackle a big project and not feel overwhelmed by the size of it and just break it down into sections or squares and also that way you can try different techniques , stitches and yarn to see how it would look and it also makes for a unique looking piece when you put it all together 😸 i usually do about a 4"X4" or 6"X6" depending on what is more comfortable and doable in the time i have
If you haven't crocheted balls before and you're interested in making amigurumi in the future, making a couple balls to practice would be good! They make good cat toys :3
All of my circle crochet projects are curving up making a bowl. How do I fix it? Did you have the same struggles? Sorry I’m new and I love watching these! ( I did try to google it😅) ( pls tag me )
Tension is to tight relax , when you dive in for the initial joining loop make sure you are pulling up enough so you’re next row lays above the previous row . When the tension is to tight it wants to pull the row from top to the side of the row below that is why it is curling. Had the same problem when I first started.
I’ve actually made one before! The one I made was a slouchy beanie and it actually starts out exactly like the coasters do! I still have the tutorial video if you’d like :)
Idk if this will make sense when I write it out instead of showing it in person, but I'm self taught, so this is how I make my granny squares: -you start with a circle and then when you start increasing by doing two double crochets into each stitch - you have to pick four equidistant stitches to make into corners and just do five double crochets in those stitches. I hope that made any sense at all lol
Hi Holly! What about a third row? Would you double crochet two times into a stitch, or would you just regularly crochet into every stitch? My yarn is tiny so two rounds isn’t gonna make a coaster
You would have to do it slightly different, like this: rnd 1: however many dcs as needed rnd 2: dc 2 in the same st to the end *now* , instead of that again you would do this: rnd 3: dc 2 in the same st, dc 1, etc rnd 4: dc 2 in the same st, dc 2, etc rnd 5: dc 2 in the same st, dc 3, etc and each round you would do 1 more dc in the gap between increases, hopefully this made sense!
I think crushing for almost a month and I really suck at it and I tried this and it keeps on turning it off so ugly and I can't do it and I wanna really slow tutorial but even if the tutorial is slow I can't get it so please can someone find a tutorial that can actually help me for once😢
Try soaking it in water then sandwiching it in between two flat things (like boxes or crates but I wouldn't recommend books bc it wouldn't be heavy enough and they would get wet) for 24 hours then take it out, it might still be a little wet depending on how much you soaked it but if it is then just leave it out anywhere and once it's dry boom you have a flat coaster

Hii I need some help, I only have 2 hooks as I can't afford anymore at the moment and they are 6.0mm and an 8.0mm and the wool I'm using has a suggested hook size of 4mm I'm not sure if I can still crochet well with my smaller hook or if I should wait until I have enough money to get the right size 😅 I also have a larger wool but I'm not sure if it would work for the projecting I have been trying to make which is a bucket hat. The larger wool I have is for 6mm knitting needles but I'm not sure how that translates into crochet hook?
