Thank you so Much to the Instructor for teaching this Tutorial. I have been searching all week to find out any and all formation about this particular stitch flower design. I came across a picture in a "Crochet Tips, Techniques, and Trade Secrets" book in the library by Jan Eaton. On one of the pages, "Design Basic" section, there's a photo of a lady wearing a "Rowan Wrap around cardigan" as stated in the book, but No pattern. I searched Pinterest and found that same picture. It seems that an Etsy seller of "Vintage Patterns" was selling the pattern but as of now she doesn't have any more available. 😪 And then I came across your Tutorial on that same flower pattern and I'm so Happy to see that you're demonstrating how to create this Beautiful Lacy stitch Flower design. Thank you!
Ok, this is gorgeous! I found such gorgeous yarn yesterday online, and knew I wanted to make myself a pashmina style shawl, but didn’t see anything that set my hair on fire until I saw THIS! Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern. Now I have a wonky question: your crochet hook is so pretty and looks like it would lay beautifully in the hand. Would you ,UNW telling me what brand/model it is please?
At the end of row 3, you say that we are working a double treble, but you only wrapped the yarn twice. Surely you should have wrapped it 3 times, as twice is for a normal treble? But what an amazing stitch pattern! Absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for the tutorial, as I think I would have found it beyond me to have attempted this from the stitch diagram. xx
I know where I would start… start the base of the shawl from the neck down.. do the first section , about 8 rows,, just as you would for a triangle shawl and then… do the edge increase and 3 DC stitches to anchor the increase and then commence with the flower pattern to the point. Once at the point go back to dble crochets and inc in the point as usual, match the other side and commence with the flower pattern again. Do the edge inc, chain 3 do the edge increase again and the flower pattern back down the side. I’d at least try that.
I find it easier when reminded on a pattern I am being taught. Repetition is the best way to learn. I have heard annoying videos and this isn't even close
