LoveCrafts I actually made this scarf about a week ago. I've been wearing it a lot! I adjusted the initial chain bc I used a medium 4 weight yarn that I already had purchased in a pale yellow. I ended up putting the fringe on it and it looks so delicate and lovely. I got so many compliments and everyone wanted to know where they could "purchase" one. This was the first time i had done the twisted double crochets and I have to say that they were a breeze! They look a lot more complicated than they are! Thank you so much for this tutorial! It was a huge help in assisting me with becoming a better crocheter. I just started crocheting in November, and I have to say that this scarf is probably the item that I am most proud of, as it turned out very professional looking. I will definitely make another scarf in this pattern. I'd like to use the chunkier yarn next time and make the tassels. I just thought the fringe looked better on the medium weight yarn. Thank you for the different options!! Please continue crochet tutorials! I'd love to try more of your designs!

Hey there Debra, Merion started of by chaining 11 stitches, and then worked into the second chain from the hook ending up with 10 stitches (Turning chain doesn’t count as a st ) :) I hope this helps a little.
