In this video we demonstrate a unique way to crochet an edge to your quilt for a clean and seamless result. We also show three of our favourite quilt projects using this method.
Oh my goodness, combining my two favourite crafts. My mum laughs at me because I love quilting and crochet equally, now I can combine the two. Thanks for a wonderful demonstration.
WOW!!!!😮 I never seen this before. Love the idea 😁. I'm in the middle of making a baby quilt and I think I just might do this to the edge. Thank you 🙏👍 lol..... you got me all excited now to do that.
Lovely work! This is exactly what I’m looking for to add a crocheted border to a dress. And of course I’m also going to add some to my quilts. Thank you!!
These quilts are absolutely gorgeous!! I am new to quilting, I have seen the crochet border on other blankets and was curious to see what it’d look like on a quilt. SO happy to have your video! ❤❤
I've put crocheted borders on before but have always used blanket stitch as the method of attaching it. So clever to just back stitch into the seam instead. Thank you for showing this.💐
I've seen baby quilts with holes punched through the edges but I have never seen this technique. What a lovely way to finish a quilt. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you sooo much for sharing this!!! I saw my first crocheted edge on quilt at the Houston International Festival last November. The ladies were selling books & had it on the wall as decor. They were from France. Maybe this is a European/ Australian thing? I'm from Texas & planning on putting this on my grandmother's flower garden quilt. Maybe get my granddtr to help me crochet the border, as I taught her to crochet when she was small. :)). Couldn't figure how to attach crochet, but this is so simple! Thank you again!!
Oooooo so many possibilities thank you, I once made a blanket with patchwork squares joined together with crochet. There was blanket stitch on the squares and it was quite complicated this seems far more achievable 😊
I do too! I just cannot imagine how much longer it takes on average, after you get that "ahhhhh, it's finished"-feeling at the end of the piecing & quilting! (THAT) scares me. The appearance -- the "look" -- of that edging on (especially) a repro prints-quilt? . . . . . .Sweet!!!☺🥰
I watch nothing but quilting videos for years and have never seen this before. This is incredibly beautiful. Would love to see more of this work. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing this technique. I have never seen a quilt with a crochet edge, it is simply beautiful. I am excited to give this embellishment a try. I am sure everyone who see it will feel the same as I did: that is if I learn and practice crochet first🙂
I don’t subscribe to many RU-vid channels but I have to yours. I don’t want to miss any further videos. This was great, thank you. Your borders are gorgeous 💚💚💚
What a surprise to have your tutorial pop up first this morning on RU-vid. My granddaughter asked me yesterday how to attach crochet onto tea towel edges. I’ve already sent this site to get. Her reply was “COOL “. Thank you.
I have never seen crochet edges before but I really like this. i am making baby quilts for my first grandson and I like this better than traditional binding. Thank you for your tutorial. Looking forward to more.
My mind has runaway with ideas for drawstring bags using this crochet edge technique Love the look! Looking forward to more content from your channel by the looks of your shop you love the same sort of things I do.
Oh goodness, how charming!!! Please continue on this series with each tutorial stitch! I’m new to crochet and would would love to add these to quilts! I’d watch and rewatch each one! Thank you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Bonjour ou bonsoir selon le temps C'est magnifique ce que je vois Ma fille aimer apprendre le crochet Vous savez ! Il faut aimer les choses pour réussir 😊😊😊 Non mais vraiment C'est jolie 😊😊😊
Beautiful. I live in PR and the tradicional blankies for babies are made with crochet borders. Done in a huge quilt is a wonderful idea. I will incorporate to my repertoire. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Brilliant! I have alot of # 10 crochet cotton that has been gifted to me and I am looking for a use other than doilies , but it is probably to fine for this project.
OH Jo, I LOVE this! As a long time quilter and crocheter, can't wait to finish a quilt with this! Looking forward to more videos. Also, I just started Big Stitch quilting as shown on your lovely quilts. What a combo! Thanks for the video.
I have done something like this before, but the method you showed us, is so much nicer and easier to do! I'm a long time crocheter, and a new quilter so being able to use both is wonderful! 🥰
I love this idea. I crochet a little, and will probably try this on a small quilt first. Where can I find info on how to crochet the decorative part? Thanks for sharing your expertise on this beautiful craft.
Congratulations Jo on a beautiful '1st' Video. This is lovely. Thankyou for demonstrating the tips on How to do your gorgeous crochet edges when finishing our own quilts... All of your quilts and edges are so gorgeous... and I could listen to your voice forever! 😊 Thank you for sharing this info. ❤ 🙏 👏👏👏
You quilts are beautiful. I’m an advance crocheter and I just began quilting last year this gives me a way to combine two fiber arts I love in one piece. I have use the blanket stitch to add crochet to woven fabric but the back stitch give a more elegant transition. I love it! Wonderful video
0800 SATime 5/8 Thank you Jo, You’re a natural teacher. I’m so excited to learn something new to add to quilts and table toppers. I look forward to future Videos. I’m off to play with a quilted but not finished small quilt to try some crocheting. It will be simple, but hopefully you can teach some fancy patterns ❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I can't wait to try this. You showed a hexi quilt that really inspired me. I'm currently working on a hand stitched hexi quilt which I want to do try this on. Very pretty.
