This is the best because you actually start at the beginning and not right in the middle of the project. Figured out I need chain two and put in a double crochet BEFORE my single posts. THANK YOU.

I imagine other people do it differently but I find starting a texture row with a basic stitch (like a double crochet) just makes it easier for most people. I do this with all my special stitches.

RIGHT. Every other video I’ve watched starts in the MIDDLE, and I was confused with the start

I'm not a beginner, but my years of crocheting, this is not a stitch I am familiar with. I like how you took your time to demonstrate both, because I've never heard of a post stitch, but it explains projects I've seen. I hope I can create something using this stitch.
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet 2 года назад
They aren't hard stitches, but you have to understand where you are pulling up your loop from. They are often used to do cabling on crochet.

@@WindingRoadCrochet Thank you, I tried to follow a tutorial yesterday on a hoodie/face cover, and he was making those post stitches so fast that it was very hard to follow him, so when I found your video, it solidified what I thought he was doing. I just have to figure out how to remember front post from back post stitches. I downloaded your video so I don't have to spend time finding it every time I want to remember those stitches. I have memory difficulties, so I need all the help I can get. My biggest projects have been baby blankets, first for my own first born, and then for my 3 grandkids. The most difficult thing with them were the tiny granny squares, and stitching them together, but I was pleased with how they turned out. I've been working on beanies to donate to a children's hospital but because COVID restrictions are in place, I've been doing them for a couple years now and I have over 200 and counting to donate once I can do so. Simple stitches, but I am still annoyed with trying to hide my join after every round. Do you have a video on that? I'd be thrilled because the ones I've found aren't that helpful. Thank you so much for your reply!! Kathy

I’m currently making an oversized cardigan with super bulky yarn and using alternating fpdc and bpdc for the edging :)

I also want to recommend the front post v-stitches for texture, such as in the free access "hygge arrow gloves" with "arrow front post stitches" or something like that. They are very beautiful.

I have a video for a men's cowl on my channel. It is a plaid cowl but could also be made as a solid color.

Thank you for the video. Very clear. I’m currently facing a problem with alternating DC and BPDC. After making a bpdc stitch, I am not sure where to put the next DC stitch. Is it at the exit point of BPDC, or at the next stitch?
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet Год назад
I would say right next to the exit point of the BPDC.

how would i do this stich and add and increase?
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet Год назад
You would have to add on the ends of the work and then just continue the pattern. If you add in the middle you will be interrupting the pattern and it would be noticeable.
@janne2744

I've chunky yarn. How can I adapt it
@WindingRoadCrochet
@WindingRoadCrochet Год назад
You just need to use a larger hook. This stitch will work for any yarn but a thicker yarn will need a larger hook.
