🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RU-vid yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

Robin, I want to thank you for helping me recapture the legacy my grandmother gave me as a girl. She taught me to crochet when I was young, but I forgot over the years and then she passed away in 2020. I wanted to pick it back up in honor of her, but I couldn't remember anything. I tried many other RU-vid crochet tutorials and I almost gave up. The way they held their yarn made my hand cramp. And then I found your channel and your natural and comfortable style...and now I have made blankets and amigurumi for my children and am loving every moment of crocheting! I love having this skill from my Grandma again. A piece of her than continues on now, thanks to your excellent teaching and detailed guidance. Thank you, thank you!

I might have missed your comment about an edging for the bean stitch project. What do you recommend?
@HookedbyRobin
@HookedbyRobin 8 месяцев назад
I personally quite like the puffy edging as is, however, if you wanted a more traditional border, I'd suggest something simple and plain - a few rounds of sc perhaps? X

Is this a dense stitch for colder weather? Or would I need multiple yarns to make it thicker?
@HookedbyRobin
@HookedbyRobin 8 месяцев назад
I think it is dense enough but I live in the UK, depends how cold it is where you are.😅x

Just wondering the hook size you used. I'm new to crochet. This looks fun, quick and easy. Thanks

I would recommend the hook size the skein of yarn you are using recommends. It really depends on the thickness of yarn. Hope that helps!

I tried this stitch with a DK yarn but it was too gappy. I might try it with a thicker yarn.

Would it help if you dropped a hook size?
@TheCatlady63
@TheCatlady63 8 месяцев назад
@@robinmoore7202 I tried it last week at s knitting group I wanted a fabric to drape so tried a slightly larger hook than yarn called for and didn't have my other hooks with me at the time. It was a project only going to be done at the groups as I don't have a recipient yet. So Iay try a smaller hook next time.

I like how this stitch looks but I confess I’m not crazy about crocheting puff stitches 🥹😬

Might be good to go up one size for the chain. Then go down to the hook designated for the yarn you are using.
