I knit and crochet baby blankets for "First Families Now", the Indian reservation in South Dakota. This is the PERFECT pattern. I am using a warm, soft, superwash wool. It's coming out just lovely!!! Thank you so very much!!!! YOU are wonderful!!!!
Hello, I'd like to crochet blankets for First Families Now. Would you be able to guide me through this process? I'll be available to start in about 2 weeks.
This pattern is incredible for me a beginner to learn…please post more I completely understand how you explain and it’s easy to replicate and I wish there was more
I haven't worked this pattern in a long time. Thank you for the refresher. I'm working on lapgans for our senior center and wanted something cozy, warm, and had nice texture. You can't beat the blanket stitch for that.
Yes! These types of blankets are perfect for seniors. The blankets with texture are always a favourite at the nursing home I work in: they love the feel of the "bubbles"!
I’ve just been told I’m going to be a great grandmother. So I want to make the baby boy a blanket. I watched your video. I tried the stitch messed up twice. But I’m gonna keep trying because I like this stitch. Thank you so much for your soft music your soft voice. Your camera work is very good also. Thank you again.
Hello Lullaby Lodge Crochet🙂I love this stitch you have shown us. You explain very well. The only thing is it would be less stressful if you could pls lower the background music down to a complete minimum? One has to be be mindful to remember instructions learning new patterns & loud music is a distraction, not help! Of course it also depends on people’s varied choice of music as well. On one YT lady’s craft channel she has a very smooth plush restaurant romantic music playing EVER SO SOFTLY that sets a nice mood without jangling any nerves! I hope you don’t mind my comment. I love to watch tutorials as yours, & this stitch is unexpectedly easy for me being 1/2 blind LOL & wanting to make a baby blanky with this nice bobbly textured stitch without having to make real bobbles! Best wishes x jc Australia 🧶🍎☕️😊
Thank you for sharing this lovely tutorial with us. I love the delicate stitch. It appears to be a rather dense stitch and therefore would be warm for a baby. I love it! ❤️
im using that exact yarn (as per pattern) but the recommended hook size (again, as per pattern) is a 6.00 mm (J). I understand the yarn company recommends 4-5mm hooks but my garment (sweater) is designed to be drapey. I love the design but I'm having a hard time making complex stitches w the 6mm hook. should I rewrite the pattern w more stitches and just use a smaller hook? It won't be drapery that way will it? it's the first time I've used this yarn. thanks for the video.🙋
Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial. I have been using this pattern since I first saw it but couldn't remember where I found it. After much searching...bingo!!! Now I can answer everyone asking where to find it. Thanks again!
I used a shell border for the blanket shown. You can find the video tutorial here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5qejnO-oOVA.html. You may need to adjust it a bit and work into the spaces the blanket stitch pattern makes (I did not add a single crochet round first for that blanket). Thanks for watching...
I'm doing this one on a baby blanket sort of the same colors just lighter pastels coming along great and I am using Hobby Lobby's I Love this Yarn baby born in Nov -Dec. of 2022 so I wanted something close weaved and soft at the same time.
I made a lap blanket using your tutorial and it came out beautifully. Can you please help me with a border idea or some way to add decorative ends to my blanket? I would really appreciate it!❤ Thank you.
I imagine that you are very busy and I'm going to ask again in hopes that you have time to respond. What border would you recommende for this blanket? I made a blanket for my sister following your turoria, and it is gorgeous, if I do say so myself, but I think a border would make it even better. Please help. Thank you. :)
Love this! Gonna be making it for my niece 🥰 thank you so much for sharing! I’m not sure if you have a video on it (I’ll go look) but could you show how you bordered it?? 😁
Hi, sorry I don't currently have a video for the border, but if you follow the link to the blog post, you will find a link to the full pattern page which has the border pattern.
Its so beatifull this stich you do good good job i love this stich .I would like to know if your videos are for numbers to can find faster end the name of this stich thank you so much for you time
I'm a super newbie at crocheting. Hoping you are able to help! Lets say I chain 15 + 1. When my row is completed should I be ending up with 16 stitches? Or should I be getting another number?
You start by working into the 4th chain from the hook, this means the the previous 3 chains are counting as your first double crochet. So if you started with 16 chains (15+1) you would end up with 13 stitches. Hope that makes sense...
it is difficult when trying to learn a new task, esp if the learner is not experienced in the field, if distractions are introduced. the music is lovely but you don't need it, your voice is beautiful. please consider this. We want to hear you.
It’s a 3+1 pattern so your starting chain needs to be able to be divided by 3 so if you want a 137 chain for a 30 inch on a 5m hook weight 4 yarn add 2 chain after you count to the 137.
ch multiple of 3 +1 to preference dc into 4th chain skip 2 sc + 2dc into 3rd ch repeat until end of row 1 end on sc in last ch ch3 and turn dc into 1st st skip 2 sc + 2dc into 3rd repeat until end of row 2 end on sc repeat until rsavhed oreferred length
Thank you so much for taking the time to save me frustration. The pattern is easy and well presented but I must have a piece of paper to rely on. You are the greatest!
You can leave it without or make a simple single crochet border. The blanket in the video has a shell edging which you can find a tutorial for here... www.lullabylodge.com/2019/04/sweet-dreams-baby-blanket-free-crochet.html
I can try to help here on your last chain before you chain 3 you should have 2 loops on your hook don’t finish it with the old color slide on the new color and then do your chain 3
