I have done it (crosshatch) as well as free motion quiltet queen size quilts on my juki TL2010Q . It is a bit of work, especially the marking. But with patience it works . You are right though, smaller is easier 👍🏻

Thanks, Tiffany! I have done cross-hatching using that metal foot and by drawing all the cross-hatch lines. My machine doesn't have a very large area to the right of the needle, and even though I rolled it up as I worked, marking every line worked better. I kept curving off when I used the metal foot.

Thanks Tiff🥰 Would you believe that this is the exact way I’ve done quilting, crosshatching. I was shown years ago how to pull threads through at the beginning. Figured out how to go back and forth without breaking the thread. Seemed to be the only logical way to do it neatly. Thanks for confirming that I’m on the right track. I just wish I had a machine with a knee lift! My little Pfaff has a great walking foot and I use the little metal thing to hook through to measure. But have to be careful there, so will use your friction pen method of marking. Save me a lot of un-sewing! 😘🇦🇺

Excellent guidance, Tiffany! Thank you for this video! I will definitely try your cross-hatching technique! You are so funny...."Oh! And I whipped up a 2nd one while I made this one!" Heh! ;) I can't remember who it is, but there is a sewist on YT who uses clear thread every time she quilts something. I suppose that works if you absolutely do not want any colored thread to show. Have you ever tried the clear thread? There is a dark version too, for sewing on dark fabrics. Thanks again for sharing! I really appreciate it!

@TiffanysQuiltingLife
@TiffanysQuiltingLife 9 месяцев назад
It is a bar that comes out of the front right of the machine with a plastic case at the end and hangs down to where your knee would be. If you use your right knee pushing right against it then it lifts the sewing foot. It's so you don't always have to use the finger lift at the throat or back of machine.
