'How to squat'. You explained the crouching amazingly but didn't actually teach us how to do the jumping and shooting part of a c-tap. Watched twice to confirm this.
In my opinion we should get one of the best jumpers to collaborate with someone who is known for making good tutorials that are easy to follow. The jumper would provide for clips that can be used as an example, while the tutorial-maker goes into detail and explains the fundamental mechanics behind it.They should also get known tf2 youtubers to shoutout their stuff, so the effort would pay off and a fuckton of people will actually watch it. Like if you aggreee and want to see this become reality :)
@@blacklight4415 Sorry for 2 year reply. I do difficult jump maps, t6. There is no way to really make an easy guide for it. If you still play tf2, try tf2rjw rotw. Shows off best jumpers, try copying them.
bind MOUSE1 "+attack ; impulse 101" This is what I use to practice jumps, as it refills your health and ammo every time you fire. Thanks for the video!
because when practicing on your own single player server, you're going to inevitably off yourself when tossing explosives at your feet. "impulse 101" gives you back your health, ammo and clip though I'm pretty sure what wzb is doing breaks the game, because it won't unhold -attack and so you just keep firing
Thanks for the video Slin! Helpful as always. For those of you who still don't quite get the point of c-tapping: The closer you are to the impact point of the rocket, the farther you will be launched. So if you add your walking speed to the speed you get while closest to the impact point you will go further. This is done by c-tapping which makes you as close to the ground as possible while maintaining your walking speed.
yeah almost every ctap vid fails to do this. basically you tap crouch as shown in the vid, and jump and shoot after that. so you release crouch before jump/shooting
He could break it down to the point where the video would be 2 hours long.It would almost guarantee that everyone who watches it, no matter who, has understood it.Would this be "properly" enough? He sure doesnt want to grind his life away to make top notch tutorials.I think hes fine with the majority of people getting it.But dont take my word for it.If you want i can ask him about his opinion on that matter
Something I found that helped with ammo and health while practicing jumps was to bind mouse1 +attack;impulse 101 it basically just refills health and ammo every click. Be sure to sv cheats 1
ctapping is insane, at first i couldn't do it if my life depended on it, but after A LOT of practice i can do it relatively consistently same was when i tried to market garden for the first time, i thought my game was bugged or some shit because i had no idea what i was doing wrong lol
After you said 'if you're using the stock', I thought you were gonna mention people who use the Original. Just to help out, c-tap using the Original by aiming more behind you regardless of where you are. The stock's left-side method, if you will.
One question which got in my mind: Can you also c-tap at rollouts like at Process when you fast jump over that spire/tower? I never use it in my rollouts... Would be interesting to know
stickys should be used pretty much 85% of the time, mostly for spamming and for traps. pipes should be used mostly for spamming choke points, or for self defence.
4:07 It is possible to do that jump with a perfect normal jump, but ctap gives you more room for error. Edit: 5:05 You can also get to the other side by doing a normal jump if you use the wall.
I rigged my crouch to M2 and R now serves what functions M2 used to do, found it makes it easier to flare, rocket, sentry and sticky jump, at least for myself.
if anyone ever played hns, bhop or jump maps in cs1.6 you know this is just like doing a cj in that game. Wonder if you cant double ctap in tf2 tho xD Probably not
The thing I don't understand is how you can cover large distances with rocket jumping when the wall faces against you. Could you tell me how you do that?
Hey slim. I am on a quote on quote open team with some friends and I am spy 🙂. I am having trouble knowing when to use which pistol in which map can you help me?
If you're on 6v6, just don't go spy If you're playing highlander, stock revolver is good I guess Take this advice with a grain of salt tho, I don't really play comp
Afterglow put it nicely. It is really no different than wall jumping on right walls, all you have to do is angle your aim more. That simple statement helped me, that and some practice.
Take your time aiming the rocket in the right place and just practise. When you're starting the jump move using s, d or s + d rather than a for a right hand wall.
it doesn't actually have to do with being right or left handed. I'm left handed and I have the same problem. It's because with all rocket launchers except the original, the rocket comes out of the right side of the screen. This makes it so that when jumping off a right wall, you don't have to aim as far to the right as when jumping off a left wall. You just have to keep this in mind and practice jumping from left walls a lot until you build up some muscle memory.
Is it possible to ctap with c for crouch and not break your fingers? serious question. it's either i keep using c for all classes or m2 for solly and c for all others
Using crouch just puts more strain on your pinky. it gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours and leaves your hand and muscles cramped. I personally can't get used to any other key though, I've tried.
In this video slin said you can't jump from haunter to spire without ctap. I just tried it and it's possible. You guys seem to think I ment top of fence and not top of spire. You would be mistaken.
Lightly press crouch, then immediately after you press it jump and shoot to go into the jump. After practicing walking and pressing crouch, try practicing walking, crouching, and then jumping as an intermediate step before adding the rocket.
While this is better than the other video you made, you don't really explain how to connect the walking around and tapping crouch to the ctap rocket jump itself. You say that a normal rocket jump is done by pressing crouch + jump + shoot at the same time at 3:10, but you don't explain how ctapping is different from that. You don't discuss timing. If I were to watch this video not knowing how to ctap, I would be assume I should tap crouch + jump + shoot at the same time, but in reality I should be tapping crouch a split second before I jump + shoot.
