This is the most helpful video I have EVER came across everything you did and the vet explained to you is the same thing that I went through with both of my dogs pills, shots, shaving them EVERYTHING. I’m not sure why they didn’t recommend this first instead of having it as a last resort knowing this product works wonders… makes me mad because they just want money.
Thank you. I've tried everything and bought lime sulfur but no clear use advice. Didn't know dogs color would return. Didn't know snell would go away. Thank you. Tomorrow's the day!!
Exactly, because my vet was trying to charge me $80 per treatment. He said he would need to have at least 4-8 treatments or depending. Smh. I did research and found what treatment is used to cure it and bought it online for $12. Some vets are such scammers.
@@granto6738 I mixed it with shampoo. Like 2 tsp to 1/4 cup of shampoo and 3/4 cups of water. Prepare and use it all. Let sit for 10 minutes. Prepare to stink to high heaven for a few days but it's worth it for my dog
We had 17 working dogs in Western nsw Australia farm. Mix of sheep, cattle, pig and a few ring ins. We lost a few of them to paralysis ticks. The grand mother would wet a spoon and roll the back in yellow sulphur powder mix it though some wet dog food once a week. We never lost a dog after that!
VETS can be scam artists. I took my dog in for a sneezing a few years back. She wanted to run $1200 in tests. I asked her why... she stated " because dogs can't talk and tell us what is wrong". Do you by this? I've raised a handle full of children and they were all babies and young toddlers. I would take them in sick as "dogs" (hehe) with high fevers and down right miserable. Not once did the MD suggest a bucket full of tests because my baby doesn't talk. Instead, they would say, let it run its course, if they aren't better in 10 days, bring them back. Thanks for the help!
Thank you. My vet just recommended this and suggested I drop her back off for the day and let them do it. But now I know how to do it on my own going forward.
Thank you for this! Will totally try it with my dog. I had the same issue and vets weren’t able to give a permanent solution. Btw I don’t think using h&s shampoo is good for the dog. Dogs have much more sensitive skin than us and basic shampoo contains lots of harsh sulfates that can harm your dogs skin. It’s best to use herbal soaps and shampoos made specifically for dogs. A vinegar rinse once in a while is effective for dandruff in dogs. Brushing the dog everyday will also help
My Yorkie has juicy soft skin and he has had fungus now twice. He was seen by head of Dermatology at U of F Vet School. Charged me 500 and never treated him, or gave me a diagnosis. He was taking Beau into classes likelly showing them fungal infection and never treated Beau nor gave me a diagnosis. Rip Off. Then Vet from Inida at Banfield diagnosed righ away and he was cured within a couple weeks with pills and round pads to rub on his skin. He got the problem diagnosed right off. Too bad he left Banfield and cannot find him. This time it has spread worse since after paying vet for blood panel, someting they like to do for money when not indicated but first visit. Was not indicated and he only gave me an antibiotic!! Then prescribed uselss mousse that stick his hair together, and ointment that did nothing.. About $500, not returning there. So dping the Sulful Dip myself now and he is looking better after one tx but still has bumps under his skin, but fewer. Belly had circular grey fungus and back had bumps with white larve or something that would rise up out of the skin opening around his neck and areas of scaly skin that when combed comes off with seeming colobies nearby.. Seems like three diffferent skin issues at once. It hurt him if I press on area, as if under the skin is infected. Almost seemed alive insect. It has reduced much with one tx. But still scrathing, and combing get flakes that seem a little fatty, and also some small white like maybe dry skin each day i have combed him since treatment.. One site said tx three times first week and once a week for three weeks. Since he still has some bumps on back and side, wondered if it would be too much to do two treatments first week, like four days apart, but do not want to poison him. One site said dip three times first week and once week for three weeks. In his case do think more than once a week indicated at first sicne cannot understand why having three different types of issues. The scaling is now on his head, was near his eyes, on two paws under hair. Good vets like MD's hard to find. Three years is not enough education with all that is known now. Seems that it has been three years for past 70 past years.since these guys are just making monoey and getting nothing for it. .
I came across this video....this same thing happened with my dog ...I already wasted lots of money on my dog ....my vet also told my dog is allergic ..never given right treatment... already ordered lime sulphur...I hope for the good results.🙆
@@StoneBrokeAdventure we've used this for mange in the past. Even had the same brand as you, though they are completely out of stock now. I've read up on this sulfur lime stuff, and it's basically a cure all from what I gather. However, my husband keeps telling me this doesn't work on fleas. And the truth is, he knows alot more about this stuff than I do but, he hasn't given any time to read up on this sulfur lime stuff. So, to ask directly, does this help dogs with extreme flea problems?
@@TamaraGrace this is what i would think … im prety sure it would soothe the skin on the dog but probably wont help with fleas. Their is a highly effective flea pill now that works wonders. Mine gets the pill only when i see a few fleas. ( about 2 times a year) and it kills all of the fleas in a day. Amazing. I dont know the name of it but any vet would know
I remember over 50 years ago we had a shepherd who got ear mites , my dad went to his dermatologist and got a sulfer cream cause he had been treating him used it on him twice a week cleared it right up.
Yeah. Vets are full of bs. Had the same experience. Just learned about this dip. Ps your link is not working, couldn’t find on Amazon but chewy has it.
I was have the same problem es pending so much money whit my Lili dog until finally I found this medication my dog was Suffured for so many years tanks God she estar get it better 😀
just ordered some and will be in tomorrow! my bulldog is so itchy .. her skin especially her back and rear is so dry and crusty i really hope this helps :(
Just applied it to our dog today. She has had this intermittent itching for the past few years. Hopefully it works out. The vet prescribed a special soap and some pills for fungal solution. But isnt doing much help.
I need help my chihuahua was diagnosed with scabies and ring worms, the vet prescribe this solution and my dogs face area is where majority where the infected area is, how would I go about to put the Solution on that area with getting into her eyes? Please help me out.
For best at home results follow these directions. Shampoo using a peroxide shampoo let set on for 10 min. If your dog has sensitive skin issues then use this instead. Step one: find a tub to mostly submerge your dog in. Fill using the stronger ratio of sulfur lime dip. Step two: bath your dog in benzoyl peroxide shampoo. Or use a hydrogen peroxide and baby shampoo mix. ( further directions below) mix hydrogen peroxide with water, using a 50/50 ratio. Wet dogs fur with the mixture and then apply baby shampoo. Let set on the pet for 10 min rinse using the peroxide mixture. Step three: Submerge your dog in the silver lime dip for 10 min. Do not rinse. Do not allow the dog to shake off the mixture. You can save the dip for multiple use if needed but use new mixture if possible. Repeat this every 3 days for three sips. Then move yo every 7 days. Warning do not slack fo not miss a dip, do not assume it has gotten better. Continue this for two months. Keep in mind this method is labor and time heavy but with only one small dog it shouldn’t be trouble. I repeat do not assume it is better. Assume it is just starting to work. Continue for a minimum of two months. There are other methods that are safe but require knowledge. If you miss a dip double down, if you feel the need to be more aggressive with treatment then do so but using a two day or twice a day. Also if you preform this at night it tends to work better because the little critters tend to flock at night like crazy. I also recommend cleaning any surface or bedding the dog lays on. You can also simply kill the mites with a simple 20 min heated dryer cycle. Good luck
I'm in the UK and the vets said the same to me 😢 My little Shitzu Billy has suffered enough.... I'm going to take your advice and do the lime sulphur dip. Thank you for your help 🙏 Much appreciated 👍
@@StoneBrokeAdventureHi my bud used this but he left it on for 5 mins then washed it of he has a blue staffy like I do ,,,, mine is going this down the centre of his back. Night mare blue staffy best wishes from Durham England
Is this only for itch? I’ve spent so much money and these vets literally don’t care & I’ve been to several. Please respond as soon as possible I’m so stressed out. I just want her to be okay
My dog was itchy then would start stinking and flaking and then her hair was falling out. It killls mites and fungus. It was a old school treatment for dogs with “mange” which im prety sure was a term that was used liberally in the olden days. Try this treatment and let me knpw if it works. But remember you need to do it once a week for 4 weeks
@@StoneBrokeAdventure Mange is also an itchy skin condition caused by a Demodex Mite which are smaller than scabies. Different species, like Cats, dogs, humans each have their own variety. I think lime sulfur was also helpful here
Thanks so much. Also can I blow dry my dog just for a few min n then let him air dry? Cuz after a bath he rubs all over the carpet or grass. Just trying my best to avoid him trying to get the sulfate off.
I have a question, hope someone can respond bc I can't find an answer anywhere. My dog has a skin condition which causes scabs and crusty skin and she lost parts of her hair so I bought this lime sulfur dip for her. I wanted to know if I'm supposed to scrub off the scabs so they fall off, or if I just gently pat her with the dip ?
Please do NOT use human shampoo on your dog! Their skin ph is far more alkaline than ours. That shampoo is literally dozens of times too acidic for her skin. You're totally disrupting her acid mantle, which is a super important part of skin barrier function. Dandruff shampoo is also incredibly drying and you are stripping her skin of oils, which also impedes barrier function. Once in a while is OK, but you said you do this once a week (for 4 weeks). That's too often, and not necessary since you're using the dip after. And even more concerning is the PRONG COLLAR. They are illegal in multiple countries. We have collected so much data over the last couple decades on the damage they cause and why they should never be used. Damage to the cervical spine, damage to the thyroid gland, and more. If the dog pulls they are putting an immense amount of pressure on each one of those little prongs, and their skin is thinner than ours is.
I love my dog . Dog doesn’t pull. Dandruff Shampoo doesn’t hurt my dog. Gluten doesn’t cause an itchy dog . She isn’t allergic to dog chow. She dosnt need a life jacket because she was born and breed over 100 years to swim. Ivermectin treats heartworms not covid. Pushing a dog in a stroller is bad for them because they were born with 4 legs . Had dogs for 50 years and most lived into their late teens. I got this. But thanks for the tips.
