Not necessarily for Japanese though. They usually tend to have a problem with their accent.

It's so interesting to hear someone speak two languages back and forth. I was always envious of my friends that were bilingual growing up. There's just something cool about how not only the accent but body language and how everything changes that seems surprising. I had a japanese friend in high school that was raised in america and when he'd talk to his parents he'd always seem like a different person. I guess I just think it's cool that someone could seem like two different people, but I'm sad I'll only be one... lol
@brennonbeh3638
@brennonbeh3638 6 лет назад
people say that when someone speaks in a different language, their personality changes so I supposed that's how it works? I can speak quite a few language so I find it very true somehow
@jmiddlefinger
@jmiddlefinger 4 года назад
As a multi-lingual individual who spent more than a decade as a professional linguist, I have experienced those differences in myself when switching from one language to the other, and it is very interesting when you become aware of the difference in your thinking based on which language your brain is running in. It doesn’t completely change your personality or anything, but there are some observable differences for sure. That said, I think a lot of what can be seen from the outside is just a matter of us as humans needing to assimilate into our environment socially.

In my 3rd year of Spanish class in high school my teacher told us that she knew we were going to curse in her class, no matter if she tells us not too, and gives us detention, or not.. So she said, "if you are going to curse in my class, during my time, they you must say it in Spanish. And if you say it any other way, you will get a detention after your 3rd warning. So our first vocab words were all of the most commonly used curses in Spanish. Boy did I have fun practicing those words with my sister in our room, with my mom listening. We lived in a lower class area, with lots of kids who cursed in Spanish around her every day. So she recognized some of those words. And she didn't believe me about the words being my vocab words, till I came home with the test graded, and a note on top saying "Congrats, you passed! You can now curse in Spanish, in my class"

Weeaboo (a.k.a Wapanese) is an English slang used to describe a person (typically of non-Asian descent) who prefers Japan and all things in Japanese over one’s indigenous culture. I assume that's what it means?? Then nope! I really don't think any culture is superior. I just enjoy this aspect of Japanese culture, same way I enjoy Italian food or French music. Or DC animated movies/series. Or Gilmore Girls. Or Reading Harry Potter, or Oscar Wilde. I just really get into things that I like. It is a problem. And I curse just as much in English, Punjabi, Hindi and French. I like using Japanese because the words aren't that rude and no one knows what I am saying. Also, to whoever wrote that definition, what does non-asian mean?

Fast forward to like 10 years later and we find out from cousins that there actually ARE swear words (kinda lol), just how Reina explained, but our mom still won't teach them to us cuz she doesn't want us to know them lol
